Got a Red!! on Itzapoplotl with Seraph Blade. Was popped around 14:00-16:00 on firesday I believe.
Edit: posted cus it would be nice to find a pattern if it's there to narrow it down.

Can you get blue !! if you do 0 damage (not on tp move or casting)? ie WS-ing on Mictl NM that has full HP.

Ithink i understood that upon popping/claiming a NM, the NM sets automatically 3 weaknesses:
* 1 Elemental WS for the Red !! (unknown pattern, gotta try all 13)
* 1 Physical WS for the Blue !! (depending on morning/afternoon/night time of claim/pop)
* 1 spell for the Grellow !! (depending on element of before/current/next day of claim/pop)
What i'm wondering now is:
Hypothesis A: Does NM picks those 3 specific WSs/Spell only from what Main Jobs are available in the claiming/poping alliance/party ?
or
Hypothesis B: NM can pick a Phys/Ele WS and spell that is NOT available from Main Jobs in the claiming/poping alliance/party ?
and/or
Hypothesis C: NM can pick a Phys/Ele WS and spell that is available from Sub Jobs in the claiming/poping alliance/party ?
Only best situations coming to my mind for testing A & B would be duoing/soloing poeple, and for C, any ninjutsu from /nin can trigger ?
First, I don't think there's a pattern to the Red !! WSs. If SE only limits Blue !! down to 15 different weaponskills based on time of pop, we're lucky to only have to do 13 for Red !!.
Weaknesses are chosen at random regardless of what jobs you have there, or I'd be able to force them all the time when I solo things on RDM/NIN, and I can't. Soloing Tier 1 VNMs, I only managed to force three Grellow !!s when cycling through all the available spells that matched the appropriate elements.
I highly dont think there is one, i have been lowmaning some key items, very constantly i have to swap back from War and Nin in order to get the red to proc, as for grellow, our blm cycle through everything as well as whm and my ninjutsu was nothing until blu came in later.
not to mention the *24* for procing grellow. and its been mentioned before, you only need 2 people on red, while you need more then 2 pn blue depends on day.
have there being any solid SS to proof the 8 spells per per day theory i got from the JP site that its wrong?
edit: i still think its meer coincidence that we got back to back blade: ei proc on 2 different mob last night in like 3 min apart.
We don't have enough information to make claims about how far the limitations are for any of the elements. Thus far, it has primarily been recording the NM-Day-Spell configuration. By our records, we probably couldn't (Or simply didn't) have figured out the blue !! pattern. We're really back at square 1 with a whole new set of stuff to test.
If SE has any code in place to limit grellow down to what the party has they are looking at spells the character knows and not what can currently cast due to job.
I've had a few pops where it it was an AM or Tier 5 nuke. The blm wasnt in party at time of pop but the spells needed were known by multiple characters in the party.

Proc'd Grellow about 6-7 times last night farming head seals on NM, tested and confirmed that twice it was Ice Break from BLU. no spells proc'd outside the listed 8. Ninjutsu once, nukes the rest of the time (was water>wind>iceday during fights)
Nice to have a list for BLU to set, got us some extra seals!

i like to propose a new thread on Abyssea Weaknesses, all the information now seem pretty solid. i think a new page with everything we have so far would be nice, and only need to post when we have soemthing that can disproof the theory we have.
^ Second this. if someone needs a basic template, here's one you can tweak that I'm using atm:
Attempting to proc a !! while stunned from a Red !! will not work
Attempting to proc !! while the monster is stunned using a TP move/Casting will not work
Attempting to proc !! on a stunned monster that was only auto attacking (sans iron giant attacks) WILL work
