No idea what happened for you, but:
I'm not gonna go look through logs for other times, but I'm sure we've had people homepoint and do that, and I'm fairly certain I've done it 2 other times (generally to switch to TH, or back before Scars to leech exp on a subjob, this time it was to try to proc blue). There are bugs in this game, and they come up quite often (azure light from melee kills, 5f Zhayolm frog not popping when all conditions are met, 2 bosses in 1 Ein chamber and 0 in another, Losing visitant status but not getting zoned out and having a permanent flee drink, plus tons more that I'm too lazy to list), and I'd be more inclined to believe he didn't get it 'cause of that (or is dumb and already had the atma).Code:[20:46:48]Failure readies Cyclone. [20:46:48]Your attack staggers the fiend! [20:46:48]The fiend is frozen in its tracks. [20:53:37]Failure was defeated by the Iratham. 100% sure you lose your red trigger when it goes yellow. happened to us with briareus and hadyahosh or w/e the behemoth is called.
Only thing I can say is it declaiming and having to reclaim it because I didn't get it on a mule that I had to HP and I know I don't have it because its our first time fighting it (no he wasn't dead, out of exp range, etc). That's the only logical reason it could be besides a bug. In any case that proves leaving the zone at all and getting atma works.
Hmm? Going yellow and staying aggressive doesn't matter (in fact, that Iratham went yellow also, killed person with last action on it). Going passive however does require a re-proc.
See what I said above...did it actually go passive, or just killed person with last action and went yellow? Because the latter shouldn't matter.
How successful have people been forcing Grellow using the 24 spells?
To be honest I'm not sure, we were trying to recover from Berserker's Bane spam killing half of us so it got a little hectic (granted only 5 real people if you don't count mules leeching atma or proc'ing red). I was following it around on a mule and the RNG died (I think being the last person to do an action on it) after shadowbinding it and running around a rock with it and it went yellow, then it stood there casting thundaga4 on somebody else after changing to yellow. So no it didn't go passive.
Edit: that was horrible grammar
really? that's odd. people were still alive around these two, and some people never died so they had to have had hate on it still. Maybe a small glitch and it went passive briefly? Odd.Hmm? Going yellow and staying aggressive doesn't matter (in fact, that Iratham went yellow also, killed person with last action on it). Going passive however does require a re-proc.
Although it isn't directly related, wanted to add to what Failure said in that we had an LS member claim a Timed NM, die, HP, come back, and still get the Key Item.
Popped 6 Cirein-Croins (sp? - Orobon), Kukulkan, and Itzpapalotl last night and each was able to proc grellow with the current list. There was one odd item however, Banishga proc'd, but not Banishga 2, on one of the Orobons.
Popped Durinn last night on darksday and spammed every spell on the list for those 3 elements the entire fight and nothing proc'd. I made sure everybody cast their spells 10x over to ensure that nobody got caught during a tp move or spell.
I thought that was a false rumor that has since been debunked.
Probably was a helix, I'm certain they can proc grellow and that list is not complete because of them. The -aga2 and -ja spells I thought could, like I said, but it's possible I'm mistaken there.
That's pretty lame. And since there's a helix for every element it seems that it's time to add a fulltime SCH to the mix.
Also, nobody has ever gotten a grellow proc from DRK absorbs, right? Someone in my LS had mentioned something along those lines but I've never seen it.
that grello list seems pretty accurate, but it's definitely not 100%. i've had no problems with grello up until tonight. i just fought itzpapalotl on firesdays (popped on fires). we had blm/nin/rdm/brd and blu use all the spells on the list ... and nothing. (all spells were using at the appropriate times).
