The intimidates are really streaky from my experience. I'm actually tempted to think, like all of his other moves, his intimidation potency is also moon phase based or some shit like that. Wouldn't surprise me in the bit.

On the yellow !!, did you do that right off the bat and get a high intimidate rate much sooner than normal, or was this deeper into the fight? I know as you get farther through his intimidate rate spikes up a few times, Im guessing at 75%, 50%, and 25% are the jumps, just eyeballing it.

I fought him the other day at 76% moon phase.. and at 1% we had to kill it with counter, nothing would go through his intimidate for us. We didn't get any !!'s, but from what I understand his intimidate rate is just HP based.

This is the impression I was under too from fighting it. It starts off kinda annoying, but sub-50% HP it becomes a major issue; and this is without triggering any !!s.

We went on a streak of 4/5 Poise shoe drops when I got mine. At the end his intimidation rate was GIGANTIC. We did seem to trigger blue !!s tho. The only thing damaging him below 20% were RNGs with RA n Sidewinder and meditation SAMs with Gekko.

Killing with COUNTER seems uhh... a very creative solution. maybe you could have pulled a normal mob to get TP on or -GA it with a BLM? lol

lol? I make no claims of knowing everything. I do know that Nynja is spouting bullshit in this thread though, which is obvious to anyone and everyone that has half a brain and even the smallest grasp of basic logic.

As for Dioma, well, he didn't steal any of our bank, seemed pretty straightforward about shit for the most part. In the end, he ended up leaving without even asking for/taking a final bank split. Please, explain that one with your logic. There was just a personality conflict with the shell...and it's not like he's the only one that's ever had that problem either.

We musta' just got lucky on the two smooth fights then, because the intimidate rate was insane and no one could touch it towards the end... I think it was eventually DoTs and a SAM using Meditate that was the only thing that ended up doing damage. (Just a note: my Automaton never got intimidated...)

It was just that one of the high-intimidates started at around 20~25% which seems like it would be normal. The other time he did it, when there was !!s, he started his ridiculous intimidation at maybe 40%.

My observation of Lugarhoo (not helpful for this thread, but meh) is that Call of the Moon effectively stacks with itself. During one fight, he stopped using Call of the Moon for a while (possibly triggered a !! without seeing it?) and his Intimidation dropped off after a while in spite of being at low HP.

Go into the fight expecting a high intimidation rate, it's just a TP move and more often than not he'll use it enough to make the fight drag out. So bring a job that intimidation doesn't apply to (pup, smn, rng) to keep steady damage up. I'm pretty sure my automaton was doing typical 2000+ stone Vs to him, but I don't recall for sure.

Grellow !! on Balaur tonight, from a magic bursted Blizzard IV. Someone else said it wasn't the 1st one we had gotten, but it was the only one I saw.
