this pyro was so fucking bad. we were getting owned early game and i told them to just stfu and let me and chrono farm. once i finished radiance i started raping their team, but i was the only one surviving in fights until the end. ended game with 2 of our rax down and me taking their main base pretty much alone. also ended with 8500 gold lol(was paranoid about buybacks)

Out of curiosity, as someone who knows nothing about the original, are these the final names for characters? A lot of them seem like placeholders.

they are the final name for characters. Placeholders are for heroes that had not been implemented yet.

All of the names are derived from DotA1 but they aren't exact. In DotA1 they all had a name and a title, and DotA2 seems to fluctuate between which they use for a hero.

Case in point, Riki is used for "Rikimaru the Stealth Assassin" but Drow Ranger is used for "Traxex the Drow Ranger."

Furion the Prophet turned into "Nature's Prophet" because they can't use the name Furion

Ok, dota newb - what do? What champs are easy to pick up to learn the game? What items are worth getting? etc.

I play a lot of LoL (not here for the shitstorm) so understand the very basics; lasthitting, denies, oveextending.
