I hate how the cursor doesn't change hovering targets, it throws me off targeting because I'm trained to respond to the visual cue of the cursor changing to a target.

Anyone figure out how to open stash yet lol? Game has so much that could be improved and there are no beta forums unless I'm missing them, so they are getting like no feedback on this shit.

I swear I thought I was gonna lose this one, but luckly, noone split pushes like a Tinker, GIMME UR RAXES!

All dead, and the Skeleton and VS decide to go rosh when we could have gotten super creeps. We almost lost this one somehow when I was 14/0/12 at mid game.
so far the players have been invariably better from my dota and hon days. i haven't had to tell people there should only be one player mid. i haven't had to tell people to buy chickens or wards. and i have yet to see anyone who is completely brand new/clueless in my games. are there bad players? certainly. but rarely has there been someone whom i couldn't manage a game with, and there hasn't been anyone who's completely unmanageable.
i'm guessing this is due to the fact that it's a beta and for the most part only people with prior experience actually wanted to get in the game. regardless, i don't expect any current lack of newbs to last as eventually more beta invites will go out as well as when beta finishes and it goes live.
I've had some really bad people bordering on unmanageable.
But I haven't encountered BRs yet, so no one that has induced outright pure rage. So long as there is any functionality to restrict having to queue with regions you don't want, I think that will keep the game leagues ahead of HoN.
So I think I've finally settled into a hero but I need more opinions or tips on just what to focus on item wise, Sniper... and go.
Sniper is EXTREMELY fragile. Like most hard carries, he is dependent on getting lots of farm, which means you have to avoid dying.
If you're still up to that, get Lothar's after your treads and starter stat items to help escape tight situations given your fragility. It also gives you some gank potential.
Ideally a Sniper aims to attack so fast and stagger so many ministun procs that you essentially stun lock an opponent and deal quick death before they can pose any threat. I'd recommend Monkey King Bar as your first pure damage item, as it adds damage, a separate mini-stun and damage proc, and is an extremely cost effective item. The ingredients also help you as you build up rather than being an item that depends completely on being finished to help.
The next item I would recommend is Manta Style, but you should be wrapping up the game pretty soon after Lothar/MKB, since Snipers can get outcarried by quite a few heroes.
Any carry needs to consider a Black King Bar depending on the opposing team. As the carry you have to come in and deal a great deal of damage. This doesn't work if the other team recognizes you as the main threat and saves some method of dealing with you (stacking stuns for instance). Sniper's fragility makes this particularly dangerous for you.
sniper is one of those heroes that it doesn't matter too much which route you go as long as you pump damage and survivability. if they didn't change his skills too much you can just grab stat items early on for HP (bracers/treads) then tech toward whatever they call desolator/buriza these days (the armor down and dmg/crit+ items respectively). if you farm well you can build a skadi/satanic too (which is my preference as skadi pre-req items give lots of hp/mana). a lot of people pick shadow blade on him for increased survivability as well, though i don't find it particularly necessary.
With that said, is there maybe another hero I could try that would play similarly to Sniper, ie high burst damage from a distance?
i think drow is sturdier. also rather easy to play. doesn't have the nuke that sniper does, though.
See, this is why I love BG. Two folks on here offered to hook me up with invites. I won't name them as I want to avoid them being harassed (lol), but thank you both for your generosity! Game on!
In contrast to all the alternative AGI suggestions, I would suggest a nuker INT. As your damage comes from spells it would be more reliable, since your damage ability won't come down to your farm ability just your level. Your ability to DPS will scale worse into end game as nukes are static damage, so you would need to transition into more of a support once HP bars start to get beyond your spells.
Lina is the purest glass cannon INT in this respect as she has two nukes that deal 300 and an ult that hits for ridiculous amounts of pure damage. However one of those nukes is an AOE stun that is extremely useful, but very hard to time. You need to spend significant time learning how to predict people's movements and how to place the stun ahead of where people will go so they walk into it, as she is too slow to cast directly on people. Alternatively, lane with another stunner or someone with a snare (Crystal Maiden works very well).
Lion is a better choice probably. You have a ranged stun that is fairly easy to land. Combo this with hitting someone, then hexing them to slow them. Hopefully they are weak enough after that you can finish them off with your ult, which is a single target high damage nuke. Your innate hex gives you basic support ability far into the late game. During the early game, you can wander the lanes ganking -- generally you can pop out Stun+Ult anyone to death if they have half HP or less.
Zeus is the easiest glass cannon to learn though. Thunderbolt does 300 and recharges fast, along with his Static Field AOE that deals % HP damage whenever he casts, and a global ultimate to catch fleeing heroes. Your main job is to just run the fuck away from bad men and learn to use fog of war and lines of sight to buy you time to cast Thunderbolt and decimate people.
Tiny is a STR but is centered around chain nuking. He has one of the best burst damages available because he reaches his damage ceiling really early (level 8) and can two-shot a lot of heroes, but he takes a lot of timing to master. He's also one of the slowest attack animations so you have to learn his last hit/deny pattern VERY well.
Enjoying Zeus quite a bit, especially after watching this video. I'm not sure why but I've always kind of hated casters in previous DoTAs and RPGs in general, but Zeus is way too much fun. Again, thanks for your help guys!
Said video:
that guy doesnt know how to use force very will in his videos, he could have killed the two going into the pool if he put force on juggernaut most likely.
