How unfriendly is the community towards new players? I want to get into this game always feel bad if I cause my team to lose somehow by being a scrub. I plan to just run lane support for a while to get a feel for the game since I have 0 experience in moba/arts games.

Do yourself a big favor, get comfortable playing against bots first. The community is fucking terrible, even for somewhat experienced players.

I played a couple bot matches and played terribly so I'll just stick to doing those for a bit lol

play against bots, a lot. try to find other friends to play with, too. i'm not sure how accurate the matchmaking is, but hopefully when you start playing real games it puts you with equally experienced players.

Try to get at least a 3 games with every class -type-, IE. ganker, pusher, support, ect. You don't have to play with every character, but you'll need to develop the mindset of "okay, I'm a carry; I gotta farm my tits off instead of team-fighting for XXX amount of time" or "I'm a crystal maiden; I gotta not farm anything that my carry can take, while simultaneously -not dying- whenever there's a team-fight, yet CCing the shit out of the enemy."

My biggest flaws are hitting the right number for the right skill in a fast-paced team-fight, and on-the-fly shopping and courier manipulation; I truly suck at buying something right before I know I'm going to die and "saving" that money, and suck at deciding what purchases to make on the fly.

The bots get a little better with every patch, but there's no substitute for real matches, preferably with an entire set of your friends as teammates. Bots tend to 5-man more than the average player, and are notorious for last-hitting and denying like... well, like a computer.

It's pretty accurate for noobs, as long as you were honest about the questions they use to set up your initial MMR. But don't play with friends better than you outside of cooperative bot matches; in real matches, it will average your MMR then multiply it slightly. However that's not effective since a good player and a bad player do not equal an average player, since the bad player is likely to make mistake and that leads to feeding.

I started playing just recently, and so far it's been MUCH better than your average LoL game. Maybe it's because everyone are total noobs, but I think I've had like 3 games out of 20 where people actually bitched at each other.

It's actually like an inverse curve. When everyone is new, they know it and won't bitch at each other. When everyone is very good, they are more analytical about matches and don't flame for stupid shit (but will call each other out and criticize)

It's the middle area that sucks ass. People who think they are better than they are, blaming others, and not realizing their own contribution to the fail.
