The Solo Championship and the start of the playoffs is today (and apparently starts in an hour & 20 from my post) and goes to Monday.

s4 won the Solo-Mid tourney. The entire event was played concurrently to the Last Chance qualifiers that TeamLiquid won.

And 120 games being played in the next 4 days and the fight to play for the big money happening Sunday and Monday. Going to be a lot of stuff to watch between this and EVO over the weekend.

Alliance was good at a whole lot of things besides Rat style, but after Syllabear's nerfs pushed him to competitive non-viability, so the only thing Bulldog could play was Furion which necessitated ratting. Combine that with the nerfs to Wisp, which crippled their gank heavy strats.

It's just like MMOs where there's a knee jerk nerf to whatever the lowest common denominator complains about, sets off a chain reaction in balance.

I do, I just don't play it because I suck way more than the normal "you suck". Awesomenauts is about all I can handle.
But TI is a must watch.

Also, for someone not up on the meta, could I get a breakdown on why Lycan is getting insta-banned in every major match.

Lycan + Necrobook = super fast push. Even after nerfing his howl (duration nerf) and his ult (no longer gives HP bonus) he can still do that super safe because he has on demand max run speed.

It's also why Shadow Shaman is either a first round ban/pick lately as well. Them wards with good disables or decent burst damage.
