¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sumail... <3 <3 Mistakes and all, that shit was so fun to watch.
I am confused, there are no real prize pools in Hollywood and sports (at least American ones). The pay out is usually determined by contract before hand, and is usually by player/actor and the award. E.g. you get X dollars for being in the super bowl and X more for winning the super bowl.
Not questioning the amount of the cut, just the analogy.
Agents (and similar, which is what EG the organization is in this case) take cut of their principal's earnings.
The sources may be different in hollywood (the actor's cut of the budget), traditional sports (the playe'rs salary), and tournament earnings (esports, and other prize pool competitions), but the mechanic (and rate) is largely same.
Yes with prize pool cuts the amount can be variable, which means it can seem weird and different, but it's not.
Umm, what?
And I don't see how EG is acting as an agent. Agent's usually act to represent the player in when dealing with the organization that holds the contract. An agent’s commission varies, based on the sport he represents. Generally, a sports agent earns between 4 and 10 percent of an athlete’s playing contract, though some leagues place limits on what percentage an agent can charge in commission. For example, the National Football League states that an agent can't receive more than 3 percent of player salaries. The National Basketball Association places the limit at 3 percent too. Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League don't have any limits on agent commissions, however.
Again, not questioning the cut there, just your analogy.
Teams in eSports are a hybrid between a sports team/franchise and agents. They are agents in the respect that they go get you your sponsors for you to endorse. Except instead of you signing with sponsors directly, the sponsors sign with the team and you are contracted to endorse sponsors at the team's whim.
The people behind EG and Alliance basically recognized this and expanded upon it by branching out and becoming Good Game Agency. For EG and Alliance they not only get the sponsors but they also run the team. But now GGA works as a sponsorship agency for other eSports teams, like CLG, and handles clients' sponsorship pitches etc.
The 10v10 mode is now available on the Reborn client. Time to do stupid shit on there for a while.
These team shuffles are kinda fucking nuts.
wow hard for me to hate a team more than one with envy and puppey
anyone still paying attention to the game? or playing? TI is coming up fairly soon
I still play a disgusting amount per day, but I usually rage quit after two games of nothing but Peruvians on NA servers with English as my only language.
It's really not a coincidence that all my games with 10+ KDA ratios are vs. Peruvians, and 90% of my losses are with two or more Peruvians.
oh that makes sense. i started playing again more recently and had been seeing a lot more foreign players. are you queueing for solo MMR rank? doing well on that if so?
That's why I stopped playing over a year ago, like 4/5 games were ruined by south americans on either or both sides on us east. It felt like a total waste of time to queue without a full party.
