So my PC has just been running like shit lately, not sure what it is but I'm about to reformat just to fix it cause it's so annoying.
I don't know when the problem started, but I'm wondering if it has to do with my overclock since I never touched the ram or voltages.
I'm running an e8500c2d @3.8, it's an E0 it runs stable without touching voltages everything is fine. I encounter some problems when trying to get 4.0+ because I haven't touched voltages as mentioned so I leave it at 3.8 for 24/hr 7day use.
The ram I'm using is corsair dominator (no longer has the fan) 2x2gb of 1066. I noticed pre OC that my ram was not at 1066, but when I pushed my FSB to 400, the 1066 went perfectly no problems.
In CPU-Z, under the SPD tab, it shows my rams max mandwidh of pc2-6400 400mhz. When I boot my computer it says my ram is 1066 underneath my cpu's clock speed, so I don't know which my ram is running at. Under memory it shows dram freq. at 533mhz which should be correct. Since my computer is having problems lately and I haven't yet touched this portion of the overclock, I figured it may be related.
The only reason I haven't messed with voltages is because last time I attempted, I couldn't find a stable one, however I was less experienced and didn't feel the need. But with how my computers been running I feel I may need to. As far as computer running shitty, tabs are taking forever to load and close, programs taking forever to load and close, shutdowns are taking foreverrrr, I get lag spikes in chrome and when going through tabs... it just doesn't feel right.
Ok haven't slept I'll check in a few hours whatever I typed here to see if it made any sense. Thanks in advance for any help.
edit: just fooling around got my bus to 422x9.5, and my ram to 1125... running fine so far and that with leaving voltages on auto. We'll see how it goes. If my computer starts running shitty again at this point, it should be safe to rule out the overclock actually slowing me down since now I have the ram up as well, correct? I know I don't have any viruses, and I'm a big fan of reformatting when something is just "off", just gonna suck to reinstall 100+gb of steam games + wow + sc2 + wow beta etc lol... oh that and idk how I'll keep my antivirus subscription after a format.
