Even with 'help,' their schedule is a joke, you'd have to see catastrophic breakdowns in the SEC for Boise to stand a chance. Glad VT got outed as a team with a two-trick QB and awful playcalling though.

Yea, I really hate VT and their overrated asses...so not crying any tears at their loss, just so annoyed with the Boise win. Both teams losing clearly needs to somehow become a possibility.

late to the thread but fml the florida game was horrendous. i've never seen them look that bad. they were making miami of ohio's defense look good for 3 quarters lol. the boos were raining hard. that was an embarrassing game. there's only so much you can blame on an injured offensive line.

Better hope Pouncey doesn't play like that against USF. If that had been the Bulls instead of Miami (OH) I'm pretty sure we would have won.

Gunna be heading up to Gville for the game on Saturday. Its kinda making me really torn, I've been a UF fan since I was like 5, lived in Gainesville for 3.5 years and went to UF for a short time...but I am about to graduate from USF lol, up until now I could cheer for both. Think I'll rep my USF colors as I sit in the UF student section, although admittedly I think I would rather see UF win because they have everything to lose, while USF "wins" just by making the game interesting. I want like a 30-24 UF win where USF comes up just short of a game winning drive at the end of the game.

Mississippi State is improved on D, but they aren't improved that much. After the first drive, they just looked out of sync for the most part (Auburn that is). I just hope the Zimba injury (and Fannin) isn't serious.

Either way, when they were inside their own 5.. they just got real conservative, and just ran the ball a ton all night in general. Never really let Cam go. Then again, first SEC road game, etc. Thinking they'll let him go with the next game.

Hell, happy the D only gave up 14 points, though. That was nice.

and how many one loss SEC champions has there been in the last decade? one, maybe two? Last one I remember is LSU in a year where #1 went down like 5 or 6 weeks in a row, there were no undefeated teams left that season - 2004 maybe?

LSU in 03, Florida in 06, LSU in 07 (2 losses), and Florida in 08.

TN and Bama were undefeated.

I guess what I was remembering was the LSU team in 07. Georgia in 2002 was a one loss team as well. TN didn't win a conference title in the '00 decade.

Auburn was undefeated in 2004, but was on probation so no bowl game etc... EDIT: Except they did b/c they weren't on probation, thanks Zoolander for the correction.



oh and to all the Boise St haters - just remember that the preseason polls will doom the system - since BSU was ranked #3 going into the season. It's not actually a cakewalk schedule they have anyway, they still have to play Oregon St, Fresno St, Nevada, and Utah St - it's not the hardest schedule in the world, but those are solid teams that all made bowl games last year - plus the VA Tech win already.

once those big bad SEC teams (and don't get me wrong, I say the SEC is and always will be the premier football conference) start scheduling the Boise States and TCUs of the world or there is some sort of playoff system, then they can stop whining about BSU and TCU being ranked so high. Last I heard though, BSU can't get ANYONE to play them at all, same as every other season.

at least next year, the Mountain West will start looking more respectable as a football conference (Air Force, Colorado St, UNLV, Fresno St, Nevada, San Diego State, Wyoming, New Mexico, Boise State, TCU)

Yeah, they went undefeated and couldn't go to a bowl game in 1993, then went 9-1-1 in 1994, lol. Really sucked shit due to their roster they had with ole TERRAH BOWDEN.

Well for one reason Boise has a high list of demands for a trap game. They want a home and home and 1 mil to schedule. A team looking for credibility should stick with a road game and shouldn't expect teams to fork over 1 mil for a no win game. Team pay the San Jose's and the like money for guaranteed wins, not the potential for a loss. Only retards(Vt) would fork over that cash to probably be embarrassed.

Secondly a playoff would not benefit those teams right now. Boise head coach said himself he doesn't have the depth to play consecutive tough games like a playoff would require.

Nobody wants to play in a 32k seat stadium with poor security. (I believe Cowherd was ranting forever on the same thing)

Vanderbilt, which almost everyone would agree is the weakest SEC program historically averaged 38,460 last year.
