quick question to you all.. If Auburn goes undefeated into the iron bowl but loses to alabama and alabama happens to lose to LSU before that. would Auburn go to the SEC championships?
Kinda weird. Wisconsin is 9 in both polls (Harris and USA Today), and 9 in the computer rankings average....
but 10th in the BCS. Quirky.
National Championship or bust.
I'm really hoping we can go all the way but I do agree with Aki an SEC title would be awesome in itself. I'm still worried about our defense... a lot. They are getting better but they still aren't anywhere near what they should be. UGA is continuing to get better and rivalry games can get pretty crazy so that could end up being a tough game :/ and then of course the iron bowl (got my ticket already, woo decked out auburn in the bama student section). I suppose in rivalry games anything could happen
I don't think auburn is even close to talented enough to beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I would bet a lot of money on Alabama in that game lol.
Lol, yeah.. because Alabama's defense is nearly what it was last year when they got Chris Todd'd and needed a last minute drive to eek out a win. Auburn was exponentially worse at nearly every position last year compared to this year. =p Oh..and they got destroyed by Stephen Garcia at QB.
Nah. I personally still think Bama can beat Auburn and go on to the National Title game if they stay at only one loss. I'd just be really worried about the secondary and D-line play. That line gets little to no pressure on the QB at times and that's dangerous against a decent QB. Your secondary matches up with Zachary and Adams though since they aren't wtfbig receivers like Childs and that kid from South Carolina. I could see McElroy throwing for 300 against AU too. It'll be an offensive game, I think.. like 33-30.
It is going to be an interesting game. We miss McClain so bad that it isn't even funny. I worry about our D's ability to adjust on the fly. We make great adjustments at halftime, but we don't seem to be able to adjust mid-game like last year. I think Julio is going to have a great rest of the season after our bye this weekend. He needs some time to heal his hand. We just gotta find a way to run the ball again.
Yeah, I've noticed that you guys have really missed McClain out there. Speaking of him.. he's done pretty shitty out there in Oakland this year. That MLB position usually provides a ton of tackles (Kirk Morrison was the last one there before he got traded) and he just hasn't produced at all.
Either way.. yeah, Julio's gonna have a big game in the Iron Bowl, but you guys need to stick more to the run and not feel like you have to pass. Auburn knows their strength is in their run game, hence the 440+ against LSU, lol
Nevermind lol, hockey thread reference.
Anyway, the Iron Bowl is gonna be a shootout. I think it's clear Bama's defense isn't what is was last year, and unless our linebackers and corners start playing better, Auburn has a great chance to win that game. A week from Saturday we have Bama/LSU in Baton Rogue, should be pretty telling of how the West is gonna shake out.
Edit: Also,
McClain thrived in Saban and Smart's system and made all the adjustments at the line. Now he's a rookie in a 4-3 in the NFL and isn't making the reads. He'll probably figure it out, or it was just a perfect marriage of player and system at Bama, a la early Kurt Warner/Mike Martz.
