IN OTHER NEWS, I heard a rumor from an LSU football player that Jon Gruden has been seen on campus and is buying property in Baton Rouge. Just a rumor and still a long shot of course, but Gruden here would be siiiiiiiick.

They've had Phil Knight funding their program for the better part of 20 years. They've never looked as sharp as they have in the last four years (Dennis Dixon's senior year, also Chip Kelly's first year as OC). The variable seems to be Chip Kelly; Mike Bellotti was a very good coach, don't get me wrong, but he really only achieved anything close to a national title contender in 2000 and 2001 until Kelly came along.
I still think Les Miles is at scUM by the end of January. So this would be a little bit interesting. Does he have a contract with ESPN/ABC for MNF or is he just kinda "on staff". Not that you wouldnt have any trouble (monetary or otherwise) leaving a broadcasting job for a coaching job though.
And just watch Auburn go 13/14-0 and end up having to vacate the season. I've never really hated Auburn as a UGA student, and I've always kinda liked them as a program. Sucks that they're having this possibly happen now after 14-0 a few years ago. You figure a program like that only has one disaster tier issue to deal with every 50 years. This could be 2 in 6. Bummer.
WTF was that? A zero man rush? I've never seen a QB have that much time.....and then throw an INT on top of it.
New fold in this Cam Newton thing...apparently Urban Meyer may be involved (don't know to what extent though). Would be interesting, if true, if this had anything to do with his "retirement" earlier last year.
With the way ESPN is jumping on this I'm not sure what to think, they're usually right when they swarm this much. I guess we'll find out if Newton plays saturday, if he doesn't it adds more legitimacy to the allegations. As much as I hate awbarn I have to say newton is a very good player and it would be real dumb to have done this and pissed away chances at a championship and the heisman.
Chizik already said he's 'eligible to play. Period.' but that doesn't do anything. Cam Newton basically saved his job in my opinion, with the way college coaches are viewed. To me, the ESPN article was really..strange. It didn't really have proof, and it didn't blame Cam Newton or Auburn. It just put it out there. I"ve got shit on Forde and why he'd be happy to be apart of this, but that'd come across as homerific so I won't say anything.
Still, this has been under investigation for months and is just now coming out? Very strange.
Now that it's out there if it's true the info will not be hard to find i think. My thing is that I reread the article about 6 hours later from the 1st posting and they cleaned it up and added information and all the NCAA folks are refusing to comment which makes me think they might have something. Of course Chizik and awbarn would say he was eligible thursday night, we'll see saturday. Unfortunately, good or bad for awbarn is that it might takes years like the reggie bush scandal.
Yeah, which is why there's no way they'll sit Newton. They're already 9-0. Why sit him now? May as well go for broke and go for it all, even if he did do something.
I do think that the folks have something, but what gets me is his family sent in all their bank records and what not to the NCAA and nothing bad came of them. The big thing in all this is how the church suddenly got fixed. It's not like they went out and did the Reggie Bush and his family thing of suddenly having wtfexpensive cards/houses, but still. I'm not liking the possibility that it'll just blow over, and it's a shame it had to happen to this kid, especially if he actually doesn't have anything to do with it. Sorda stings that he'd say this late in the season how he wanted to play at Mississippi State. :/
Nah, yo. I can't do that. D:
Well people have known about the reggie bush fuckup for a while, and anyone with half a brain knows how to funnel money to avoid taxes and shit like that, bank records don't include safe deposit boxes. And it is weird how the newnan city council was going to condemn the church and they somehow got money to bring it up to code, you'd think the congregation wouldn't wait that long. Plus the details about Cam wanting to go to MSU, but his dad made the decision to go to awbarn. I don't think I would have my dad make that decision for me lol. Idk this is just a weird situation where if it weren't true I don't think it would have gotten the coverage it had and the NCAA officials wouldn't be so hush hush about it.
Yeah, it screams out it's true, but still. Certain details about it, especially how it comes out now, after guys from the school that he didn't go to, come out and blow the whistle on it. Fishy.
It could just be butthurt Miss St., but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

From Sept 9. If you have such a relationship with the guy who recruited him to florida, why go to awbarn? No ties there for him. Idk I can't wait to get the truth so we can stop guessing.
Eh. I never liked their fans anyway. They need cowbells to get the noise up for god sakes, lol

might be good news for awbarn, but I still question where the money for the church came from. 50K in repairs and the somehow got it quickly? and Cecil Newton won't say where the money came from. fishy.
I have a picture in my head of Auburn winning the SEC Championship and then some new evidence comes out against Newton right after it. He ends up getting suspended by the NCAA and certain humans start voting an undefeated Auburn Team 10th under the logic, "they are a different team without him". The drop in the human poll causes Auburn to end up 3rd in the BCS and we get an undefeated WAC Team in the championship over an undefeated SEC Team.
