I tried both. First round I went to purify the colony and wasn't really paying attention and got fucked and went to bed. 2nd attempt I went to save it and found that route to be hella easy.

purifying seemed way easier with mass banshees and wraiths. It was a joke even on brutal

I just massed vikings on saving the colony and raped.

Helping the chick is definitively the better ending. The alternative is pretty fun as well. It has little impact on anything thought..I wonder if they will come back in the next game, or their side story are done.


Anyway, both mission are incredibly easy with viking , even on brutal. If you purify the colony, use the viking to kill every broodlord/muta above the colony, and land them to finish the zergling/roach/infestor. Make sure to hit the new one asap before they grow into a normal base. For the colony that have anti air (bottom and top one), Im just buy every mercenary and land my viking.

If you help the chick, you can snipe the first 2 nexus from a cliff (kill the shuttle that power the canon first), and last one isnt really an issue (again, snipe the shuttle then land behind and rape the nexus). Viking destroy the protoss fleet as well.

I got the impression from the purify mission ending that she had been infested the whole time. Tosh eludes to her hiding something and when you kill her she refers to the colonist as her "children". When you protect the colony from the protoss you do nothing to stop the actual infestation.

I thought "children" was used in a more general way, but that make sense. However, I'm still under the impression she would find a cure in time if she is left alone.
