All Americans agree on every fiscal, government, and social policy proposed in a unanimous, resounding, triumphant roar. Why can't the rest of the world just be like us?

Dunno what the breakdown of elaph readers/polled is, but here's some info: http://www.openarab.net/ar/node/321, and in spoilers is the google translation of the article the poll was taken from.

    Spoiler: show
    http://translate.google.com/translat...4.html&act=url

    http://www.elaph.com/Web/news/2010/8/592784.html

Did not hesitate a majority of readers ILLAFTrain who voted on the referendum, the weekly's refusal to endorse the project of building a huge mosque, in an Islamic center largely on two blocks only from the area of Ground Zero, which saw down the twin towers of the World Trade Center in Manhattan's financial and business in the city of New York in atheist ten from September 2001 through attacks adopted responsibility of al Qaeda militant Islamic groups, which was born at the time the feelings of hatred and resentment to the widest range of by the Americans against the Muslim communities in American cities, especially in New York City, which won the largest share of the bloody day U.S. term.
After years of bloody attacks began to recede abuses of registered against Muslims in America, but the willingness of Americans to try to kill a taxi driver, a Muslim in New York a week ago, re-digging this file, especially with the approach the ninth anniversary of the attack which happened in practice the first day of Eid al-Fitr following the month of fasting in most Islamic countries.
This networking in synchronization between the solutions dates painful memories when the Americans, and of the September attacks, coupled with the intention of a group of Muslim activists Americans to build a large Islamic containing a mosque and Islamic center in close proximity from the World Trade Center, which coincided with the occasion of Eid Fitr traumatic memories as a basis when the Americans, perhaps dictated by the majority of readers ILLAFTrain vote in favor of the option not to support the project, Central impressions can not be ignored that this design to build a mosque, it may be the spark before the eruption of hatred and attacks against Muslim communities, although the U.S. Constitution that fortifies the terms of law, campaign organizers, the project of building the mosque, on the grounds that the right of religion, worship and practice is legal in the United States, as long as these acts of worship in accordance with the spirit of American law.
In the referendum ILLAFTrain last week which raised the following question: "Do you support the decision to build a mosque near the site of the September 11 attacks (September)?", Limiting the answer among the options (yes) or (not), voted (6519) 58% for option (not), in exchange for (4712) 42% for the option (Yes), in a week is very important globally in heated arguments about this subject, which is the week that saw a change evident in the position of President Barack Obama, who is considered the beginning, during the reception in White House and a delegation of Islamic leaders, the U.S. had a right to Muslim-American establishment of this project, and it is supported, before falling back and expressed reservations, in conjunction with the U.S. campaign counter, was considered rejecting the establishment of this project, amid objections lower, and restricting the opposition in a symbolic place to the Americans, in light of the prevalence of a kind of barter by some officials in New York City, who led the effort to give another plot of land for the establishment of the Islamic project them, they are more distant from the area of Ground Zero, which go to the Americans heavily throughout the year, to commemorate the events involving more than three thousand American lives were killed in attacks in September
Votes in favor of building the mosque project, launched in support probably the basic rules, is that the mosque will be implemented through the funding formula by the donors, and may be unsuccessful leaders of Muslim American in brought from external financial aid from wealthy Arabs and Muslims, at a cost of approximately USD 100 million , under the ceiling allowed by U.S. law, especially as the U.S. laws do not conflict at all create the mosques and Islamic centers, as long as they are consistent and compatible with the U.S. Constitution, note that the project will be built on a plot of land is privately owned, and therefore may not be claims objection and rejection by the American other religions.

    Really?

http://www.compassdirect.org/english...akistan/24955/ (I expect this in Pakistan, being devout followers of the Religion of Tolerence and Peace)

...seems this also happens in the UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rP9K1lj9h0

Of course, perhaps you meant only if a Muslim Graveyard had been there before. Kafir graves don't count, right?

Oh common sense, often invoked to avoid arguing over trivial matters or when one cannot sustain one's position in lieu of reason and evidence.

Its really hard not to feel sorry for the guy who puts up his 9th grade American govt. homework assignments in his sig. Its like a graphic representation of every talking point of the last 20yrs. Although, the Republican drawing is a little rushed, looks like he left out some good traits like "honor" and "pride" or "superior race". But, hey what do I know, I don't even read the wsj, shit...

Or invoked when someone makes claim without having seen whether a true or not. Common sense would say not to make that claim.

Wait, so it's not common sense that a poll involving overwhelmingly Shiite and Suuni Muslims will look negatively on the activities of a Sufi?

While we may not know exactly what questions were asked during that poll, the fact of the matter remains the same; you're butthurt about this center because of its insensitivity. You may also throw in the origin of their funding but that would make you look incredibly stupid if you do. So, back to the sensitivity argument. While you might not believe the fact that not all Muslims are radical jihadists, others do. There are extremists in all sects of religions yet we don't generalize them with their acts so why have a double standard? If you can honestly argue that point, then you're beyond sad.

    Jesus christ.

Nobody's seen the data outside of someone fluent enough in Arabic to see if they revealed their methodology/margin of error. For all we know this was no different than a CNN.com style web poll, and the WSJ columnist took the number and ran with it and you barge in here, troll shoulderpads on with 'so do a majority of muslims suffer from Islamophobia derp derp?'

    http://i54.tinypic.com/169mbll.jpg

Oh wait you were just baiting people and not actually contributing meaningful and original thoughts of your own, I see. When you can't answer standard questions like "Why can't this man and his organization use the land he owns to build what he sees fit to build there?" you turn to asking stupid fucking questions to deflect the in-plain-sight reality that fear and prejudice cover most of the bases when searching for the root of opposition to the so-called mosque in NYC (and everywhere else mosque construction now faces opposition).
