I got 20-30 catches as well as tons of near catches doing this for an hour last night, I'd say about 75% of my casts filled my remainder bar. Lures are awesome btw.

I just thought about something, if you wait long enough to get a bite that might put the wait fishing game at only 1 hot and cold game instead of 2 with jig. From what you just said it sounds like that's how it works.

While we're talking the non-combat side of ffxiv, anyone want to share their tips?

Overall it seems rapid synth is most successful at 3/4 bar remaining, standard at 1/2, bold at 1/3.

Also asked this under the botanist thread, but anyone have a knack of chopping down logs? Or anything you notice about where to notch for certain yields? All the way to 13 in b2 I got only 1 log. Pretty ridiculous.

They already said there would be a PS3 specific beta when it comes out though is anyones guess at the moment.

I spent like 5 hours in a single spot last night, didn't seem to do much to my success rate. I would switch to a new depth every half hour or so.

So, so far not feeling any effect at all of standing in one spot.

It should be mentioned I was disconnected a couple of times so this might've had an effect.

Seemed fine for me... it was really fast once I turned off ambient occulition (or however its spelt) though.. maybe too fast, although it made selling to a npc pretty quick. (like 50 items in 45 seconds)

Interesting, I'll have to give that a shot. It just felt really sluggish to me. My game play is fine, it was just the mouse.
