Do not use gamepad to switch between ability tabs. Use keyboard or mouse.

Baderon. I'm not sure though if you don't need to do at least a part of the Treasures quest first.

Oh, and you won't really get any message that you got the skill afair, just need to check menu after talking to him.

Someone told me that CON's "Tranquility" ability and THM's "Exaltation" ability are gone from Phase 3. I found it hard to believe...

Any truth to this?

Abilities like that (skills that cost 0 AP) were changed to where you don't start off with immediate access to them in phase 3. If you progress in Treasures of the Main just a tiny bit you'll get them again for all classes.

Has anyone noticed a general sort of apathetic feeling where no one responds to anyone about anything or is it just Garland? I shout and shout, and its so rare to get a response to a guildleve party, or a request for a crafter.

I know there are crafters around, I try in english, I try in auto translate, I try in Japanese, but no one cares. Even when there's money involved and its my materials. They force us to work with other people to make things, and yet everyone is just sort of meh, and doing there own thing. It's starting to get really frustrating.

Yeah, I see tons of people doing leves solo, nobody shares them when in theory sharing is the ideal way to level very quickly. Like even a group of say 4 people can do leves for a few hours even if they go very fast if they just stagger their leves (i.e. one person gets leves, the entire group does them, the next person gets their leves, the entire group does them, etc. until everyone is done). This way you also end up obtaining a massive amount of skill points, it's insane. I just today managed to get a group of 4, although 2 of our members did not have leves at the time the other two staggered theirs and I was able to obtain like 3 skill ranks (17/19 now). Tomorrow we'll be doing the other two's and I should hit 21 or 22 and hopefully grab the lvl 30 leves.

prollem is its only ideal if they have leves too, or you need help, you ll prolly see more sharing on higher leves, now that theres no crystal cheese, that will take a few people to complete.
Its also hard to see who is in level range
honestlty vent and later ffxi has made me lazy to communicate, if someone talks to me specifically i answer but shouts? ehhhh

I don't remember seeing any options, it's probably glitched.

Also, as for responding to shouts, eh I don't know what other way to communicate at large with people. And I mean, wouldn't you respond to a shout if it's in your own interest? Like a guildleve party, or someone willing to pay you to make something you can make with their own materials?

Other problem with guidleve's is.. you only get "physical exp" if you are "near" mobs killed.. if you don't do any damage/healing while in that combat timeframe you get no "class skill' at all.

More damage you do -> more class skill.

then that is split between all that have hit that target.

so... if you get like a 1000 class skill mob... 5 people hitting it and you only get.. in like 100 damage in.. you get near nonexistant (if any) class points, while getting maybe 200 exp off that 1000 exp mob.

Now imagine this.. with surplus

and then imagine this with "red" surplus which is 90% of what you get.

grouping at least guarantee's you finish it incase of a crash, that and soloing lv30 guildleve' s is insanely hard.

I wouldn't recommend soloing them though, as its.. very... very hard (atleast the bog yazron whatevers X2)

So I almost got miner to 16 today but I got mined out and than the guildleves got reset. I picked a lvl 1 guildleve and had to abandon the quest because I coulnt mine out anything. Probably same thing happens with gathering, what a rip off.

Guardian Favor turns off Surplus, at least in 10 trials on 4 different characters it has worked this way.

doesn't for me~! it goes to green but you still get it at higher levels... ;/
