This has actually turned into a bit of a scandal here in Korea. Some fancy editing by the producers, plus a little theatrics, make it seem worse than it is. Of course, there's no dispute that he had a very tough life, and was abandoned as a child. He did, however, attend a fairly prestigious high school that focuses solely on performing arts (Dae Jun Arts High School) where he focused on singing. I'm not meaning to take anything away from the kid, because he has great talent and has had a very difficult life. Just want to point out why this particular clip has been a hot issue here lately. Fucking reality tv... it's all the same no matter where you go.
