I'll admit, I bought this game only based on Adam Sessler's review. He nearly blew a load on this game on his Revision 3 channel. So.. when is the release date of this game? I'm in Japan and bought it on Steam, so these games get screwy with their release dates for me.

314.22 drivers help a lot with this, GPU usage went from 80-90% to 50%ish (GTX 680)

I always hate game's that give you a tag along character. But Elizabeth seriously makes this game. It's the simple things like how she interacts with the environments while you explore. <3

Yea there have been several moments where I've stopped what I was doing just to watch what she is doing.
Soo glad this game hasn't disappointed as I've been pretty hyped for it for a long time. While I'd say Bioshock 1 is still better so far, fuckin fabulous game regardless 5 hours in and much better than 2.

I don't understand the ending. My brain broke. I'm going through again in 1999 Mode to see if it makes more sense the second time through the way Doctor Who episodes sometimes do.

Loving the game but my only complaint is this god damn season pass shit. I just spent 80 dollars on the game, I don't want to spend another 20 for content.

But other than that, I'm in love with it. I haven't finished it yet but I'm getting a real Bioshock 1 vibe from it. Those two people who did the coin flip, gave me the shield, and the whatever else seem important.

the DLC is actual extra story though. Im not sure if its even a part of this story or DLC that is set in this setting.

I'll probably pick up the Season Pass if most of the content is story-based. If they just give mostly Protector Trials style shit they can keep their DLC. On a separate note, this is probably the most racist game I've ever played, and I'm only a couple of hours in @_@

Ending broke my brain. Processing it still. Pretty sure I understand, but wow. That was pretty great.

Edit: To people that were saying the ending "retcons" Bioshock 1, you should learn what that term means.

Wow that ending. What an amazing game, I'd say better than Bioshock 1 just because it's ending is so much better.

GOTY for sure. Probably my favorite single-player game of the last several years. Why can't more games be all-around-packages like this one was? Fucking amazing.

The setting was unreal, definitely the most entrancing since the original Bioshock, and maybe the best I've ever seen. The music, the color scheme, the level variation, the whole fucking thing. Just oozing with atmosphere throughout, and something truly unique at that. There is just something downright hypnotizing about walking through a 1910 era fair of Disney proportions floating in the sky with subtle (and not so subtle) hints of racism and unrest, all smothered in a layer of well used bloom and saturation, often to the sound of '60s+ music played in a turn of the century style. That's not even to mention seeing how all of that changes over the course of the game to something considerably different, but just as mesmerizing.

The story was amazing, and of a grander scale than I was expecting. Wouldn't want to reveal too much but damn, they really made me want to keep pushing through to dig up just a little bit more throughout then hit you with the fucking kitchen sink at the end.

Combat was uniquely fun, especially when skyrails / tears are abound. I can see some people not liking it as much, but it really depends on how you decide to approach it, as there are a lot of different ways to tackle encounters depending on what you choose to specialize in, what you tend to use most, and how quickly you can adapt.

The whole thing was fucking art. Was it sessler's review that mentioned this could only have worked as a game? Because that's what I took out of it in a lot of ways. More than anything else I've played recently, this shows some of the true potential of the video games to tackle some high-minded artsy stuff and end up telling an engrossing story in a way no other medium really can. Maybe not better than movies/TV/books, but certainly different. Plenty of other games have done this as well, but this just feels like one step closer to what could be.

I don't want to sound too preachy and lay on the praise too thick, there are plenty of things that could have been done better or at least I would have changed. And there are going to be a lot of people for whom this game or any like it will just never appeal. You can't please everyone though. I just don't want the downsides to in any way detract from how much better I think this game is than the vast majority of it's contemporaries. I want more games like this, and I hope this game has the success needed to convince others to make them.

About 6 hours in, not enjoying it all that much. I believe it's because I'm coming home from work and playing while dead tired. Perhaps I'll just set it aside for the weekend and get some fresh perspective.
