My fucking god that ending. Bioshock 1 and 2 were good games but nothing I ever raved about. Just enjoyed and put away. But god damn this game is one of my favorite of all time now. Elizabeth <3 My second favorite female video game character behind The Boss.
Not really a spoiler but a moment that's even better if you don't know about it ahead of time imo.

I agree completely. I loved bioshock 1 and honestly wasn't expecting this one to be as good, let alone top it. While the big daddy/little sister are certainly more iconic characters than anything in this one, everything else about Infinite......
I restarted that checkpoint just to rewatch that 30s moment lol so good. Loved the lady singing Fortunate Son in the same stage too.
this my not be my personal favorite game of all time but it maybe the best made game to date
Elizabeth is brilliant. A sidekick that doesn't get in the way or slow you down, & helps in a fight. What a novel idea. Lol.
I really hope this game makes buckets of money. We need more of this quality.
Bought. Played for about an hour before work. Holy fuck this game is good. Kinda hoping I see some rapture Easter eggs
Nope. No references to Rapture whatsoever. Continue on.

my brains
Just bought the game (along with original tmnt movie on bluray!) and the first thing I did, before even putting the game inside my ps3 was flip the cover around.
Just finished it. O my fuckin god. The greatest game ever, so good.
The way I think about it is. Metal Gear Solid is my favorite game of all time because of how amazing and moving the story is. But this is probably the greatest gaming EXPERIENCE I've ever had. This is the sort of experience that can not be replicated by movie or book. You have to be immersed in the universe to get the most out of this story. Having Elizabeth following you and doing this and that. Honestly think of this as gaming reaching it's potential. And god damn I can't get Elizabeth singing out of my head.
Elizabeth was an amazing NPC, was constantly amazed at what a good job they did with her.
After reading a good explanation of the ending I had a sad about her.

I am somewhat unclear about the DLC though, I was under the initial impression that there would be some at release, so I caved and got the season pass (got it all on steam). I got some extra gear and whatnot, but if there was additional story in this, either I missed it, or it was so seamlessly integrated I did not realise it was DLC. Could anyone clarify this?
All that said, bloody brilliant game, played 12h straight (well, food breaks) to beat it, haven't done that with any game since FFIX was new :D
So I did the Konami Code to unlock 1999 mode.... and am currently doing it as my first playthrough. It's pretty hard. More so since I don't get to make many mistakes, and have no idea where I am going since hte map indicator is disabled in 1999 mode. I made it to the Hall of Heros so far, so perhaps I will make it. All this effort for nothing would suck though since being resurrected costs 100 coins. Have to skip all the dollar bill machines too.
Yeah Sesseler was definitely right when he said this could been done only as a video game. I love Metal Gear and there's games that will hold a special place for me for nostalgic reasons but I agree with you that this is the greatest gaming experience I've had. I was hooked from start to finish. The feels, immersion, all that. It's 10/10 and something that wont be topped for year to come
I'm still astounded at Elizabeth. Moments like
