Finished it tonight. Best story I've ever experienced in a game. Extremely satisfying ending that I'll think about for a long time.
It's so awesome I kinda want to get the action figures associated with it.

    Spoiler: show

The Boys of Silence were really cool and creepy. Wish they were in the game a little more.

The game has some Physx stuff going on I believe, that's more then likely what's causing it.

For some reason, the Microsoft store has this game at $50 normal price for PC.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet but the reason the 123rd iteration of the time line succeed is because you, the player, observed it. Quantum mechanics

Anyone know where one could find the soundtrack as the songs were in game. The soundtrack on iTunes has them recorded by the original artists which is dumb.

I know I'm just echoing the masses here, but I have to get it out. This game is a masterpiece. I just beat it and running on its high atm, but it may be my most enjoyed game and quite possibly one of, if not the, best game ever made

This first room seems unavoidable. Sort of impossible without any ammo

Edit: Found a method thank god.

The sound is too obscured, it's gotta be a coincidence. I don't believe they planned that out, lol. Still haunting though, especially when taking into account the way infinite played it out.

Can I just say that Lady Comstock on 1999 while trying not to use Dollar Bill can go fuck herself. That has to have been the hardest part of the game. Fighting her all those times took many tries and lots of luck.
Just finished 1999 mode. Gotta say that fight was more about patience. Final fight demands precise execution and took me a good 3hrs to finish.

    Amazing God damn fucking game.
    Spoiler: show
I did put together that Comstock was most likely a future Dewitt right after Elizabeth got taken by the songbird and you had to rescue her, but that was it. The rest blew my mind.

Beat it on normal, now I'll try it on 1999. I''ll also do the no Dollar Bill machines. I didn't use a single one on my medium playthrough, but I know it wont be as simple as that in 1999mode.
For the trophies, do you have to do all that's required in a single playthrough or do they carry through multiple playthroughs? Such as getting x amount of kills per weapon and getting 10 headshots while riding on ziplines and such

    also out of curiosity, as it will presumably be a huge hurdle in the 1999 run, in the last confrontation;
    Spoiler: show
if the ship end up getting destroyed, do you have to start the entire section over or does it just count as a regular death?
and on that subject, what happens if you die but have no money? getting revived would just take you down to $0?

If you don't have enough money to revive in 1999 you get a game over.

    So to answer your questions
    Spoiler: show

There are checkpoints throughout that final fight (thank god). At least 1 checkpoint. It seemed (to me) that you lost money when you die, however, if the ship blows up it reverts you back to the total money you had at the checkpoint. (At least as far as I could tell). I ended up having 7300, meaning I could have died 73 times.... so it really was not an issue for me.

I must have "restarted" the fight (which it does on its own when the ship blows up) around 8 times. I died multiple times during each one of those fights. The strategy that seemed to work best for me, (I tried this the last time or two, which made a pretty huge difference), was to use the skyhook.

Equip gear like frost armor (invulnerable for a few seconds after jumping off sky hook), and the fire one, that does AOE fire damage when you dismount. You can also equip other armors if you have them that help with this. (I kept armor on that automatically reloads free bullets 40% of the time). So skyhook + dismount to 1 shot the normal guys. Each time you dismount your invulnerable for 4~ seconds so you can pop some shots off on the patriots etc. Rise and repeat. I kept the shock vigor on to shock the patriots and then the handcannon or sniper to pick their heads off. If you shoot the same spot the head was (a little lower) it will still do crit damage.

Make sure you focus the songbird on the gunship (that has a huge Gatling gun) before targeting the Zeppelin. The gun ship (seemed) to do more damage than two patriots. I have read you can leave one of the enemies on the ship and it will not respawn another wave, though I did not use this strategy.

You can also use the songbird to clear out enemies on the deck. It's timer is dramatically reduced when you do an attack on the deck so don't be afraid to use it if you have to.

Doing 1999 as my first play through was pretty rough. However it really is not /that/ hard. I feel like the hardest part was the earlier part(s) of the game. Once I got established with some extra silver I feel like it actually meshed better. I feel like I kept a lot of extra money on hand that I did not need to toward the end. The final area(s) seem to have a lot more money so keep that in mind.

Also, I constantly found myself nearly out of ammo. Sniper/Handcannon all the way. Make sure the max damage on both. There is a pretty awesome armor that does 50% damage bonus to head shots, which helps a lot. That + ammo armors that drop more ammo, and give a chance of reloading with free bullets.

    Also, Dat Ending.
