Holy shit @ ending, that really took me by surprise, it was a bit depressing. This entire game as a whole exceeded my expectations, and I definitely see myself playing it again. I think I missed a lot of Voxphones.

I didn't watch that. but man..

    Spoiler: show
Seeing the rapture and walking through all those doors for that final reveal was just... good fucking god. Game of the year for me so far, I never wanted the game to end.

My only complaint is that I thought that originally songbird was going to chase us around and we would have to fight him (think nemesis in RE3) but it ended up being opposite. He ends up helping you out. It was pretty damn cool but couldn't we have had at least one fight throughout the game? Bioshock 1 made it seem like you wouldn't stand a chance against a big daddy, they looked terrifying. It's a very minor complaint and doesn't matter one bit because the rest of the game was a fucking blast. Oh.. and a few times I got stuck I had to restart checkpoint ><

One of my biggest complaints were that there were nowhere close to enough checkpoints in the game.

Should have bought it on PS3, since the first Bioshock is included on the disc.

After reading this thread I'd like to pick up the first 2 Bioshock games as well. I understand you don't need to play them to play this, but I'm the type where I'd like to play the first one. I only have a 360 so getting Infinite+1 isn't an option. I just went to blockbuster and family video hoping to rent 1 to see what it's like and neither store even carries it. At blockbuster, Infinite cost $10 for 5 days! I'll probably pick up Rapture edition for $30 @Best Buy. Seems like a decent price for 1+2+dlc.

In 1999 mode, how are you people dealing with the robot sentry guns? They take too much ammo to kill but are a real huge pain in the ass even when just trying to sneak around them.

Make use of possession till you get that bullet shield/reflect

That works for a short time. Was hoping for an easier long term solution that I was missing, but I guess there isn't one.
I also need to stop my habit of eating all the items I find. Every time I open something I usually consume everything inside even if my health/salts are full. I have a feeling that'll start biting me in the ass if I need to backtrack to refill my health.

Yeah, Possession is really the best thing, that and aiming at their weak point from behind cover.

The way I got through 1999 mod was I made great use of Possession and Devils Kiss, fully upgrade both. Devils Kiss traps everywhere really do kill anything that they hit. And if you're having issues with Sentry Bots now, wait till the game starts to throw patriots at you. That's a pain in the ass.

Also, good weapons, Carbine, shit's a beast if you aim properly. I kept mine from the first time I got it till the end of the game. The other gun I found to be truly amazing was the Volley Gun for 1999 mode. Explosives do some serious damage. They work great against Firemen aswell.

Headshots and a sniper rifle, much like any survival mode. If I couldn't afford the ammo to take a sentry gun out I'd run past it.

    1999 mode

    Spoiler: show

Just FYI. There is a point on the Zeppelin towards the end (when you are headed up to comstock) where you fight a bunch of enemies and a handyman. All of this can be skipped. It is easiest if you equip the armor that gives invulnerability when you dismount the skyline 100% of the time. Zipline dismount, run up grab the zipline up to his office and then you are set. Figured this out after I already beat the game, but if you want to conserve ammo for the end then this is an option.

Spoiler is a tip a fight you can skip near the end of the game (before the huge fight) if you are having issues.
