On 1999 mode/no Dollar Bill run and I'm afraid I've got a tough time ahead of me.
    Spoiler: show
I'm on the Lady Comstock section. and all I have left is the final confrontation with her. I normally run Carbine/Volley Gun but I ran out of Volley Gun ammo before I even made it to the bank(my 2nd to last stop) and so I changed it up to Carbine/Hand Cannon. During the bank, I ran out of Carbine ammo so I switched to machine gun/Hand Cannon.
But there are going to be a lot of minions on this last fight and I have a feeling it may require me to die a few times until I can burn up enough of the corpses so Lady can't revive them

You might as well be playing the Dark Spire, why are you doing this to yourself?

My only method of ammo/salt for that fight came from Elizabeth. Don't waste ammo on the minions, they will only respawn. Yes, it takes forever.

Grab a sniper rifle and sit back and whittle it down. Elizabeth will keep you stocked.

Thy don't respawn if they get burned to death which can be done by killing them with fire or killing them while they are being shocked. It makes those fights so much easier. Last quarter of the bank fight, she was solo against me cause she ran out of bodies.

okay, so making my way up
    Spoiler: show
Comstock's airship was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, mostly due to me being cheap.
Cleared the first floor as normal, second floor a cleared pretty easily as well normally. They were all grouped up so two charged Fire Kiss took most of them out. Then I pressed the button and jumped back down to the first floor while I waited for the things to clear from the skyline. Only one enemy came down to the first floor. Then I just skylined back up to the 2nd floor and immediately up to the third.
I was afraid of the 3rd floor due to the handyman, but that became incredibly easy too. Charged Devil Kisses to the face and then run back to the door (not the door that zones you out, but the one that leads to the combat area. He'll keep leashing back if you go through the door so you can keep hitting him with Devil's Kiss and what have you.
Now I'm on the very last section. Don't think there's a cheap way to get through this lol.
Full health/salts, 1514 silver, max ammo on Volley Gun, but running on red with my Carbine.

0/2 so far. How many big white zepplins are there? If there are just the two, Then I'm gonna be pissed because first attempt I only had the one left, but bird timer was only half done before my time ran out. On my 2nd attempt, I had called Songbird and songbird hit the zepplin but at nearly the same time, my time ran out again.
If there are more than 2 white zepplins, well, I guess I'd be more than just pissed because I wouldn't have a single clue how to deal this last part.

Toss a couple of RTS traps directly on the core to buy you some time. Equip Winter Shield and Electric Touch as gear. Spam the shit out of the skylines to keep Winter Shield active and take out the grunts. When the rocket assholes show up, either use Possession on them or toss them over the edge of the ship with Undertow. Use melee on the Motorized Patriots, specifically on their asses. Electric Touch kinda stunlocks them, so melee > Shotgun > melee until dead. Once one is dead, move to the next (obv leave the 2 patriots until the grunts are dead). The RTS traps will basically suck up most of the rounds the other patriot will shoot at the core, and since hes focused on it he wont turn to help his buddy. Use Songbird on the zeppelins, and if things get kinda nasty use him on the deck of the ship to take out some grunts and give you some breathing room. If you don't have Electric Touch, it's still very doable just takes more time. If you don't have Winter Shield.... good luck.

And for anyone that might be stuck on the Siren fights..... fully upgraded Charge, Burning Halo, Blood to Salt and Brittle Skin. Bitch dies in like 10 seconds.

    I call bullshit on this.

    Spoiler: show
I use so much Devi's Kiss during all of her fights and shit never stopped respawning. If anything, she spawned more minions the more I killed them. It's why I had so much trouble with that fight, she never stopped spawning minions

dunno what to tell you. With the bank fight, she stopped respawning enemies for me and when I was done with the fight there were no more corpses on the ground.
I didn't try it during the last fight because I ended up killing her pretty fast once I actually had a sniper rifle.

and @ Dominico: No winter Shield. don't even know what it does

I don't know myself to be honest. Cause I spam Devi's Kiss as well and I also don't remember noticing any issues with respawning...as I didn't know they respawn.

It's a piece of gear that makes you invincible for 10 seconds every time you jump on/off a skyline. Without it.... eesh. Shits gonna be rough. Most strats I've seen online for that fight revolve around it. And as far as I know, for the minions to not respawn you need to get the killshot with Devils Kiss. Shooting them while they're on fire won't do it.

    Spoiler: show
You could try getting to the top level and using Undertow on the 2 patriots to bring them up (need upgraded Undertow for this). They get stuck up there and can't shoot you or the core.

Dying isn't really a problem for me. I mean, it is, I die a lot, but I am nowhere near running out of money and dying actually restores my ammo/salt when I'm revived.
Not sure how much damage the generator is taking during my death downtime though.
    Spoiler: show

I think I'm starting to get this fight down. The biggest problem remaining though is Songbird not wanting to attack targets. I'll have the targeting thing up and I'll hold the button but he doesn't come. It's really getting annoying.

and sadly, I didn't upgrade Undertow at all.

    KERPLOW MOTHERFUCKIN DID IT

Now for the cleanup playthrough, though I'm apparently going to have to use a guide because even on my 2nd playthrough, I still didn't get all the infusions, Voxaphones or sightseers. Missing just 1 Vox and 2 sightseer.

Killing a handyman by only shooting him in the heart will be the next hardest thing to do I suppose.

If you want to get it over with, it can be glitched in the first fight. If you jump from the skyline to the small roof, he'll follow you up there and then just stand there.

Found this strat for the final battle. I didn't even know you could do this.

    Spoiler: show
Basically, just snipe the grunts, possession on the rocket guys and Songbird for the rest. You skyline to the top area and you jump over to the zeppelins on the right and sabotage them yourself (same way you sabatoge the other zeppelin back in Finkton). Then just spam Songbird on the deck. Once the third zeppelin on the left spawns, use Songbird on that and clean up whatevers left on the deck. Keep RTS traps on the core and drop a couple SJ traps to prevent grunts from getting behind the core.

I haven't watched the video, but if you can truly do that, then I gotta think it's kinda bull that the game doesn't make it easier to realize that you can. I imagine that would make that section so much more easier.

been thinking about grabbing infinite, but i've been told by a few people that i should play through the first game before tackling it. any opinions? as implied, i haven't really touched the series at all, the whole ayn rand angle kind turned me off from it initially. am i gonna be missing anything substantive by playing this first?

While you won't really miss anything by not playing the first game I would pick it up and play through it anyway. It's an amazing game in it's own right.

While you don't need to play the first game, I feel the experience wouldn't be as good if you don't recognize the similarities between both games. The game alone is a 10/10, but playing (don't even have to beat it) Bioshock 1 makes Infinite an 11/10.
