Do you think I'l need a new power source?
Hey all, I was thinking of upgrading my GFX card and wasn't sure if a new power source would be necessary. I don't know too much about this stuff bit I can tell ya' what I know as far as hardware goes.
intel duo core e8400
2gb ram
nvidia 8800 gts
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
430watt powersource.
I was thinking about getting this GFX card:

Do you think I'd need to upgrade my power source? If so, what do you recommend? Thanks!

If you'll be running at stock clocks on GPU and CPU, then 430w is probably enough. If you overclock anything you may have trouble, I'm not sure how much headroom you have, but there are various PSU calculators that you can try via Googlage. Also depends on if the 430w PSU you have actually puts out 430w. If it's a cheap/never-heard-of brand, then it may not hit its recommended wattage. Best way to figure out what you PC uses, other than general PSU-calculators which are more guidelines than anything, is to get a kW meter and see what the socket says. If I'm not mistaken though, a 5770 should draw less power than an 8800 GTS.
Edit: Indeed it does. If your current PSU handles your 8800 GTS just fine, then you'll have absolutely no problems with the upgrade to a 5770.

You probably shouldn't rely on 100% efficiency from your PSU though (meaning you shouldn't expect to run 430watts from your 430watt PSU). If you ever plan to upgrade your CPU/RAM, you will probably need to upgrade the PSU then, if not after the new graphics card.

I would get a ~600w power supply. It will help with future upgrades as you are close as it is now.
