What will be funny is if you need AF1 & 2 piece to make af3 piece plus whatever from abyssea. I wouldn't be shocked if SE does something like this to keep dynamis as a required event for gear progression.

My linkshell typically does sell-split, but we do have a (to this point unused) clause that members can buy currency for a 10% discount. If you want to exploit your group subtly, make it 20% and actually use it.
Currency * Price * 80% * ([# of People - 1] / # of People) <--- Cost of currency bought - Your share of the run's proceeds.
MNK Hands and Feet are still useful (Chakra and Counterstance). The rest is pretty much useless unless you want to wear a max HP build.
I think at this point, it'd be more productive to list the pieces that are no longer useful, BUT WERE USEFUL AT 75.
Blm Belt (inb4 Witch Sash debate).
Sch Belt (Maybe?!)
??Rdm Belt?? (wasn't really that useful at 75, just resting piece...).
That's honestly all I can come up with for the 10 jobs I have.
I didn't list hat. I use it to store the rest when not on WHM though? lol.
My point isn't that all relic armor is useless, it's that a lot of it was a situational swap at 75 (esp for mages), and they haven't obsoleted those swaps at all. There is no regen body for whm, there was very little enhancing gear added at all (if any) for whm or rdm. No new meditate pieces, etc. Even if they add more enhances regen gear for whm, I'd almost expect it to be a non-body piece. Like, look at overlap between AF and relic for most jobs. Even when they make the same stat on each set, it's rarely if ever on the same piece (Chakra pieces for mnk, meditate for sam, fastcast for rdm, enhancing for rdm, dualwield for nin, sublimation for sch, etc, etc, etc, not gonna list it all). I'd not be the least bit surprised if they make "AF3" compliment AF1+2, not replace it.
For Ranger, I'd say that Scout's Socks are pretty well outclassed by Praeda Sabatons, optimally paired with Praeda Gauntlets. Other than that, Scout's Beret (Holy Bolt) and Scout's Braccae (-Enmity) hold up well.
For Monk, a Regen body is amusing, but it's 20 HP per minute (don't yatter at me about stacking with other Regen pieces, they're all multi-job and justify the inventory space better). With 2000+ HP in Abyssea and no Signet/Sigil to prevent me losing TP when I /heal, it can safely be disregarded.
For Bard... nada. I still need a muffin hat just because I'm nowhere close to Marduk's Tiara, but that's definitely the item to be working towards optimally.
Ninja... pretty much just hands and feet (for jutsu). Until ninjutsu damage does at least as well as Red Mage's nukes, Hatsuburi can be forgotten. If even more Haste gear gets added to the game, Koga Hakama might actually become optimal for the sake of speed, but it'd still be hard to walk away from 15 DEX.
I'm personally in dynamis mainly because i want to get my damned relic sets some storage for 20+ invo spaces.
Seems like a decent enough motivation to fuck around while slowly picking up parts for jobs I'm about to level. Once the next lv cap hits I'm very tempted to simply grab 5 rl friends and make a dynamis lan party for our shit.
You could debate the belt's usefulness before 80 since there always were so many choices. Hierarchs always beat it for max MP set and now Belisama's, Qiqirn+1 tied for resting and now Austerity beats, Cognizant beats it for MND, and of course you had stuff like Theta sash you could use instead.
Of course, the Cleric's belt is, and always was, great if you're looking to keep inventory space clear.
I think the more honest way you can do this is to use a point system.
Find people mostly interested in AF2.
Spend your points on currencies.
This way you can have most of the currencies without cheating on them with unfair repartition system. Of course, some of them will also spend points on currency, but that's still a fair deal.
A fine example of how to do this. Only other option would be to use the tactic that Roundhouse from Unicorn used, he recruited people and told them flat out he was lotting all coins, however because of this, entry was free and anyone could lot synthesis materials. AF was handled by attendance points (1 pt for on time, 1 for attending the whole run, later tweaked to give point bonuses.)
So if you find people that still need AF, that could be an option. Of course you then run into an issue where they bail after getting what they want but, I guess that comes with any loot based linkshell I guess.
The problem with most AF2 equipment is that it doesn't belong to the "very useful, to the point I'll almost always full time it", but to the "very useful, however it's just a macro swap piece that sees actual use every now and then" category.
Gear progression, even for situational macro swap pieces is always good and all but you can definitely tell that there's a difference of excitement for drops before an Odin rather than a Dynamis-San D'Oria run.
Oh, so you sucked Wop's dick too Miz? Enjoy your brain HIV.
