Wikileaks Panel at Frontline Club [London]

This is by far the most informative panel I have seen so far on WL. It is a panel of journalists including Guardian while Julian is live on a satellite feed.

Lots of deep questions, very long video. Nice seeing for the first time, journalists admitting their part of the responsibility in having access to data that basically puts WL in danger, while they have the freedom to peruse it, their pov on how valuable of a resource WL is to them and whether or not they will come forward in defense of WL if any WL people get arrested.

Looks like his hair is dark now and eyebrows. He seems to be fine though. (Interesting thing happened. Not sure if it was at Frontline or at his location but you can hear police sirens in the back and the Frontline host said suddenly, that Julian's feed broke. It came right back up after.) Lol at the dude with the "Julian come join our planet".

I don't know how to post videos here.. but here is the link:

The data revolution: How WikiLeaks is changing journalism

The controversy surrounding WikiLeaks' historic release of more than 70,000 classified US military documents on the war in Afghanistan has not died down.

But one thing is certain: online data and its dissemination is changing journalism and the relationship betwen public and power.

In this special event, we ask:

-- How are organisations like WikiLeaks changing the way public data is released?

-- What do the Afghan War Logs mean for the mainstream media and government media relations?

-- What are the legal implications of the War Logs files' release?

Joining us on this panel are: Julian Assange, WikiLeaks editor-in-chief (via online link up); journalist, academic and freedom of expression activist Heather Brooke, whose successful campaigning led to the full release of MPs' expenses files; media lawyer Mark Stephens of Finers, Stephens Innocent and Simon Rogers, editor of The Guardian's Datablog.

Chaired by Paddy O'Connell, the presenter of BBC Radio 4's Broadcasting House.

Why are these spam posts even tolerated? This thread is actually worthwhile and not realizing how important this man's work is today is just plain ignorant. I'm sorry.

I wasn't minimizing the guy and Wikileaks; of all the people in this forum, i am the last person who should be accused of that.

I am mearly commenting on how the OP seems to have a liking for Julian Assange. I probably would too; the guy is so misterious and seemingly virtuous.

Fair enough. It was just really disparaging to see the first 3 replies amount to "let's shit on this postlol". Didn't want it to derail, but I'll bite my tongue in the future. lol

Haven't quite finished the video yet(slow internets), but def worth the 1hr30 listed.

Shocked I managed to sit through the entire hour and a half given my urge to jump around the internet constantly, but this was really interesting. I'm glad you're on top of news regarding Wikileaks/Assange, Mistress, I'd totally miss this otherwise.

dont be such a bum, dont you know that in this country your opinion's value to any group of people is directly correlated to your income.
