    n64 to USB issues

    I ordered this:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/856...SIN=8565000168

So I could play OoT and MM without having to rebuy the n64 games which are pricey. I hooked it in, and as far as I can see my comp recognizes it. Project 64 recognizes it, but when I try to input commands it will not let me change them. It auto picks one of 3 buttons, and it seems the controller isnt responsive in p64 even though it seems to be picked up by the computer.

Anyone able to help on this? Going to try to see if the controller is to blame, but I don't think it is.

    Running windows 7 64 bit.

You mean you tried manually mapping the buttons through p64? If that didn't work, you should try it with another emu (an NES emu would work, as it's far less complicated). Then you would know if it's a problem with p64, or with your controller/adapter.

Alright, just played some Starfox and it worked for 5 levels and never moved/did anything I didn't want it to.

And yes, I meant I tried to manually map the buttons.

I suppose it must just be the emulator, though I was confused because one review on amazon said it worked with project 64, so I expected it to.

Hm, new emulator is doing the same thing. It assigns the button automatically and doesn't even let me try to change it once I set my input to the controller. Starting to think it's usb converter.

Weird, the ps2 part works. I just set up the controller to work with it. Guess it just must be the n64 side, oh well. I just had to get creative with the c buttons...

Those adapters have been around for a long time and ALWAYS got bad press. Sadly, the only good N64 adapter is long out of business and costs a fucking fortune to buy(Adaptoid).

Meh, seems like a pain in the ass to RMA it so I'll just try to use this ps2 controller instead, lol.

I bought a n64 wii adapter... dunno if it works because I can't seem to find my n64 controller.... Guess I'll find out when I order another one. Well I just got done ordering a replacement joystick. ($12 or so "aftermarket" one, since I don't really trust all these people on ebay/amazon's "SUPER TIGHT"), ordered a Wii Memory Card to save my save files to (apparently this is required for some ass backward reason 256MB got it from ebay for like $5 shipped lol), and so once those come in and I reassemble my controller I will test some of the n64 emulators and see how it goes, since the wii one won't let you assign buttons. . . . which means the L and Z buttons are switched if you use an adapter...
