For the second time man! It was BabyweRRa that had that awful game vs Boxer. Apple fought PhoenixWeRRa and did an ok job; overstimmed a bit on mutas. But come on, he's a reporter who plays starcraft for fun and went into the GSL doing a story on qualifiers. Apple's a cool guy and he's Fruitdealer's friend!

But yeah.. people choke all the time, luck has a lot to do with the wins in the GSL when only best of 3/5s are played. You'd need thousands of games vs someone to prove who's really better.

Guess I was confused then, but that doesn't matter so much.

wow... boxer must've fucking studied fruit's maps hundreds of times to get that type of timing correct, and he wasnt frettin either... all believe-in-myself up in that shit.... amazing match, fruit blocked the attacks off as best as he could on that second matchbut ehh, anyway good game.

ps: is watching the streams really pay for you guys? damn, its times like these im glad i was born a korean lol

Streams are amazing for the foreigner community honestly, at least they have been for me. Pretty good english casting from Tasteless and Artosis, we also get an interview with the winner of each set live in between each match (no commercials, just a camera on the stage). The only downside is the quality isn't particularly high, but its definitely good enough to tell what's going on. And that's all free. They have paid options for slightly better stream quality and for full VOD access reasonably priced, but since I end up watching most of the matches live when I can, I haven't bothered.

As for boxer vs FD; that is the downside of being the biggest name in the game. Every opponent gets a large supply of content to watch and study, and they can tailor strategies to specifically beat you. I doubt FD is able to hunt down replays of each of these opponents and craft builds designed to beat them. It's hard staying on top.

Not like boxer isn't very good in his own right anyways. His first match must have been nerves or an attempt to hide his true aggressive style, or some combination of the two, because his play against FD was significantly stronger. That was the kind of abusive style I would have expected from the #1 ranked korean ladder player.

To be fair I don't exactly like Artosis either. He's smart at Starcraft but pretty annoying as a commentator at least compared to Tasteless/Day9/JP. I'd rather have someone like Husky or HD who know a lot less but are much better at commentating.

HD annoys the fuck out of me with how little he knows when he speaks. How can you be a commentator without a solid fundamental knowledge of the game/sport/event you are commentating on anyway?

The dynamic of tasteless and artosis is nice. Tasteless for the yelling, and Artosis for good analysis. Both do each others' jobs sometimes, too. HD/Husky are only good for the yelling part.

Hell, that guy who filled in for artosis/tasteless who knew nothing of SC2 did a better job than HD/husky could do because he didn't make shit the fuck up.

Edit: Furthermore, who, if not artosis, would catch things like boxer putting up a tech lab, cancelling it and going reactor? or cancelling the armory? That's pretty important and Artosis catches that stuff the majority of the time.

HD is actually very good at SC and is in the top 2% american, husky is probably who you are actually thinking of.

Analysis is great but hes terrible at commentating and analysis which is what is needed. idrA can analyze match ups as we have seen him do but he was still not a good commentator.
I'm not saying HD/Husky are better commentators than Tasteless/Day9, just that I would rather see them than someone like Artosis. He reminds me of that 2nd caster MLG used for WoW 3v3 a year or two ago that knew everything but just sounded dumb as hell and no one could take seriously.

I don't know what you people are talking about, Artosis is fucking awesome. Maybe he's an acquired taste, but I enjoy his commentary AND analysis. Certainly more than the YouTube casters like HD and Husky. I don't mind those guys, but I just don't find them as interesting or entertaining as an Artosis/Tasteless combo.

yeah Artosis and Tasteless do a great job, if you really don't like them you should be honest and say it's preference because as commentators they do a superb job.

Anyone know where I can find a re-streaming of the GSL going on now, I have never once clicked the button on Gomtv.net and gotten a message other than something about connection limits.

I've never gotten the connection limits message when going with the SQ Live test stream, only seems to happen for me with the regular SQ Live stream. Though I did have some initial problems getting the test stream to work, ended up reinstalling GOM over itself and was able to get it working after that.

Yeah reinstalling GOM fixes errors for me also, I had to do this when watching live back when they were doing Ro64 matches at midnight.
