Anyway, the elemental skill from /SCH won't do anything for you on the dragon. He hardly resists at all anyway. /SCH would let you actually land Drains and Aspir probably, which would be a big benefit, and 10% more efficiency overall. However, /DRK gives you access to Stun, which lets you Stun when he tries to cast Stoneskin.

If you can get about 250 Earth resist against him, you're invincible.

Drain, Aspir, 10% more fastcast and reduced MP cost assuming you only cast in proper art.
Ability to half-mp or half-casttime(and recast time, breaks recast cap) 1 spell per 2min.
Conserve MP.

You just have to be careful and make sure you don't get caught in the wrong art when you want to be in another or all the 10% benefits become 10% penalties.

How would a rdm/sch thf smn trio do vs Cuelebre? I can get 3 people total to kill it(including myself) easily but anything else would mean having CC on the dagger/horns as far as I can tell.

If you had 150 earth resist in gear, it would be possible. You would likely be better off with the RDM subbing DRK if you were going to go in damage light. Without stunning stoneskin, it might seriously take 2 hours with a SMN "spamming" magic damage BPs (lolSMN).

You would be best off with a second RDM instead of SMN. Meds make MP not an issue in abyssea. SMN can't really benefit from that, but RDM can in a big way.

As single rdm/sch in decent MDT idle gear (I was using Dalm, coral+1 feet/legs/hands, mermans rings/earrings, kebbie, hexerei cape, and lamian kaman +1) I am able to tank it full time whilst maintaining enough damage to kill it in under an hour. The additional skill on drain and aspir easily outdoes any benefit you get from stunning stoneskin.

Obviously its going to vary on what gear you have in terms of killspeed but there is no way /drk will beat out /sch on this NM.

Hmm... really? I could hold it just fine as RDM/DRK + BRD (Carol), but putting out the damage to bring it down was something of a challenge. If you're using MDT gear, then you probably have Slow II on most of the time. Drain/Aspir already have a long recast, how do you get around that? Admittedly, the last time I tried I had neither Merit Abyssites nor the Atma of the Baying Moon like I have now. It'd probably be a different ballgame now.

Yep, slow 2 is on most of the time but its partially combated by the reduced recast in dark arts, also the additional skill makes a huge difference in resist rate from my experience.

This is with 0 beneficial abyssites or atmas.
