Best thing to do is save up 4 pops and then do all 4 back to back and you are gauranteed at least 1 shadow

Shadow = can drop ring, "increased" drop rate on everything else + gives title
no shadow = no ring, no title

out of all the krabs I've done, I've seen more double drop shells, helms, and only seen the ring, with shadow, where I'd normally only see 1 shell sometimes two if lucky, and the helm sometimes without shadow.

It's been proven that you cannot get ring or title without a shadow. My personal theory is it gives ~50% droprate to everything..

Ring: 0% -> 50%
Accessory: ~15% -> ~65%
Magian Mat #1: ~75% -> 100%
Magian Mat #2: ~20% -> ~70%
Craft Mat: ~20% -> ~70%

Has anyone seen a shadowed mob not drop at least one Magian Mat?

I just returned to game recently, havn't touched any of this VNM stuff really, only helped a friend with Brooder.

All seems like a huge headache though, makes me want to do it for some reason.

I think the color mist is reflective of the amount of drop slots. I still can't even begin to wonder why SE would invent this system if there wasn't a way of knowing before hand.
