i dont see how you can say it limits the player more than a static stat, even if there is some optimal stat setup, how is that more limiting than being able to set that stat setup yourself?
independent allocation, i think the mistake people are making is thinking they want you to be able to be the best at everything in 1 minutes time. they want you to be able to play any class, anyway you want, but they dont want you to be able to go im the best tank in the game, then instantly in 30 seconds cool down turn into the best mage in the game.
they also know that no ones going to get thier stats perfect in one go, so they have respec options that are not instant but allow you to try things out and modify yourself a bit as you play.
basically its inbetween static class, and complete changeability with an option for freedom.
and AE im not saying you have no valid points, but if you really believe that there is no possibility for any greater customization and being leet with that many variables.... well i just cant see it. Its one thing to say SE cant pull it off, its another to say its impossible, because it really isnt.
Can you only get 10% of your stat points back every hour or do you get more back the longer you wait? If i waited an estimated 10 hours would i completely get all of the stat points back? If not, about how long would it take to get all of your stat points back and does this time decrease or increase with your level? I have a basic idea of it but i would like to know a little more about it in detail.
I was following this thread since the beginning. I replied because I'm getting tired of your tunnel vision. Seriously, just stop, the way your argue is simply terribad.
Nowhere did you address the limitation already imposed by gears and ability. Take out SquareEnix's dick out of your mouth and reply this: Why do you need a fucking stats systems when gears and abilities already give you all the control you want over what can/can't be done? What do you gain from it?
BUT WHAT IF YOU ARE LOW MANNING AN INSTANCE WHERE YOU CANT WARP OUT. BEING ABLE TO CHANGE FREELY BETWEEN EVERYTHING WOULD BE SOOOOOOO GAMEBREAKING. (you didn't say that yet, but I'm sure you will given how bad and limited your arguments are).
On its own, stats distribution is rather harmless (give you an illusion the system is more complicate). It's not good, but it's not bad either. However, in FFXIV, it comes with a bunch of annoying crap that make it annoying to most people and slow down the gameplay dynamics and give you no benefit. There is many way to balances the game without it, and annoying players with awkward gameplay feature is a bad idea.
Earlier, you trashed Maguspk reply when he said something like "having differents stats spec for every class is retarded", but the solution you are proposing don't really do anything more. Do you want to be locked to the same-type jobs that much? Or maybe you were one of those "dps-only" faggot that do no good in FFXI.
I suppose that's another one of your well thought argument?
Beside, "not liking" and "sucking" are pretty much the same shit. If a majority hate the system when the game is supposed to be fun...we can say it sucks
For once, I have no opinion; rather, I should say, I have no ideas that could improve a system that will, no matter how it is designed, be abused at the highest levels by humans playing within the system.
Carry on, gentlemen!
Doesn't the 1 hour cooldown between being able to redistribute your stats prevent this from happening? However, you don't even get all of your stat points back after hitting the redistribute button. Now ain't that some shit.
What i'm interested in knowing is about how long it takes to completely get all of my stat points back and what factors come into play when determining this.
You can make your characters more unique that way.
If you have BLM and MNK leveled, you will set your stats in a certain way. However, depending on which job you like best you can enhance those stats a bit more. You may come across a person who has BLM and MNK leveled, but he has slightly better BLM stats than you do, but you have better MNK stats instead.
You could also ask- what do you gain from different hairstyles and colors? "Absolutely nothing" would be your answer, because it's too hard of a concept for you to understand or accept.
You said you read the thread? Now let's try it another time while you actually try to comprehend what you're reading. I'm not going to bother more than I absolutely have to, especially with how hostile you are today.BUT WHAT IF YOU ARE LOW MANNING AN INSTANCE WHERE YOU CANT WARP OUT. Yes, majority whose opinion can be summed in one sentence: "IT WOULD NOT WORK IN FINAL FANTASY ELEVEN ONLINE"If a majority hate the system when the game is supposed to be fun...we can say it sucks
Or... Some people simply put more value on their character being strong than it being "unique".
So it's no surprise why some people might not like a system that seems to promote "uniqueness" at the cost of a character's overall strength. Is it really fair to say this way of thinking isn't valid?
Yes, i'm a strong believer right now that if you can't regain all of your stat points back then you're pretty much stuck on one class. I'm not going to be some gimp noob trying to tank on Gladiator with 50% Int and 50% Piety. I'm not going to do a "one stat build fits all" type of distribution either because that's like full timing your weaponskill gear in ffxi. What about endgame where your stats are going to be absolutely crucial to the success?
We already came to the conclusion earlier that it's clear some people simply won't like the way it's done.
Determine "overall strength"- being able to change from MNK to BLM with a single macro sounds pretty damn powerful to me.
Oh, so when you hit that 1 STR per 30 physical points phase, you'll just keep gimping yourself by putting more and more points to STR instead of getting some more beneficial stats for your other classes that would give you multiple times the boost the 1 STR would.Yes, i'm a strong believer right now that if you can't regain all of your stat points back then you're pretty much stuck on one class. I bet you liked subbing SMN on your MNK too!
Because to min/max, you need to sacrifice some of your efficiency on a single class.
It's too hard to adapt to something like that for some of them, I guess. New things are baaaad.
Also, I can not help but post this here
That is a post I made on XIVCore earlier. You are a fucking tool, Kaylia, if you think of me as a mere fanboy.- There is no in-game economy, crafting is too hard, and there is no recipe list.
- Guildleve design is way off, it does not work as it should. Players are left with nothing to do except solo grind which is boring compared to doing leves in a group.
- Skill gain is unbalanced not to mention the combat mechanics that make higher star guildleves a pain in the ass.
- There is still too much lag, especially when using abilities.
- User Interface needs serious work, targeting and overall combat movement is way too clunky just for example.
- Whenever SE updates the game, they break more than they fix. Even if they have updates planned to be implemented, weeks will pass just because they have to fix all the new bugs that came with the previous patch.
- Servers and client are still not stable, crashes happen too frequently.
- F*cking surplus, how does it work!?
Basically: The game is not working. Guildleves are not working, economy is not working, character progression is not working, combat balance is nonexistant (hate mechanics are screwed up in all kind of ways), and user interface makes playing a headache.
You won't find a more loyal SE customer than me, but I won't play the game if it comes out even near it's current state. I don't mind bugs, I don't mind lag, but they should at the very least get the design and mechanics properly working before I'd even touch this game.
Same could not be said about you though.
"I want this game to fail." Straight from the devil's mouth. It's no surprise you won't listen.
Hey man, that 1 STR must be worth at least 1% more damage on the parse! (rounded up)Originally Posted by Hyan

I'm a firm believer of, creating a char to play the game, not creating a char just to play the game.
Not sure how many ppl actually understands what the above means......
But seriously, its a game, just create a char to play the game, within the boundaries of it. Sure you can be the best out there, but the end of the day, ARE you happy?
I dont understand this either, unless they just want to be the best at everything instantly, which was btw impossible in ffxi, because from the start you had different race stats, but i guess thats a different story.
Far as using gear for all stat changing, youd simply have to make too many gears for too many different jobs. not to mention we dont know if stat effects are tiered, direct etc.
As to the losing points thing, no you dont lose any points, it basically puts your points back in a pool, shaving off all your points, then you can reacllocate those points as you see fit.
I haven't see this mentioned yet, and maybe I'm missing something, but could this be the rationale for having a separate physical level from your class level? I can't run the numbers in my head, but say if you are physical level 50, but class level 30, maybe you'll have enough points to cap (assuming these stat allocations are level-synced) a melee class without worrying about the points you have in INT/MND/PIE.
So, you're suggesting that people actually use a stat build that benefits all of their classes? If so, then you're a complete retard i'd have to say.
For your information, your reply to my post wasn't even relevant to what i had posted. Hell, anybody that even replied to me can't even reply with something relevant. Does anybody in this thread even know anything at all about anything? I didn't post anything that i'd actually do, it's for the purpose of an example. However, what i posted that i won't do then i absolutely won't do it.
