Cape is fun for the effect, but if we're talking about raw damage reduction, mantle kicks ass due to increasing returns. The main benefits for the cape include price/movement speed tbh.

Well..I know this will vary, but personally, I don't need it for PDT, and I almost always have Shell (especially considering I generally dualbox even when I don't need to - game feels funny to me otherwise), so the Mantle is definitely a waste of a slot for me for what amounts to a 2%~ difference at most some of the time.

i get +5 dex on thaumas legs and 9 str / 14 acc/atk .. does that beat out the 15 dex 5str 4% crit on my byakkos?

Shijin doesnt crit so your crit+4% means nothing. You forgot str is part of the set bonus too so it's effectively +14 str on the kecks as well.
There are some str10 dex +10 pants from meebles as well so you can probably start doing meebles for that if they happen to win. ( no idea not checked it out yet)

Some gear doesn't make sense. Byakko is not beatable, unless situationnally abatteur subligar. TBH your hands/legs choice seems like an attempt to justify your nyzul gear. Easy and next to best in slot upgrades are

This has to do with fstr capping with real gear, think about it. The good part of mustela is the 2% DA. You are trying way too hard to avoid equipping byakko's haidate. I'm still waiting for you justification on nyzul hands and legs.

The only better option than mustela is hachiryu so it's 4 dex vs 2 DA (only you cares about thaumas hands)
Thaumas feet are best in slot.
Thaumas legs plainly suck, the stats on abatteur are > thaumas, plus as I said, in non zerg situation (uncapped att) they are better.

Basically, learn to gear monk.

nyzlulz+nyzlulz=str 9 dex 13 acc14 att 14, netting 2.5 fstr 13 dex acc 20.5 att 16.5 netting : 13.55 WSD 20.5 acc 16.5 att
mustela+ byakko (unaugmented) = STR10 dex 21 DA2%, netting 20.35 WSD 2% DA 10.5 acc 5 att

The second option, which you are advocating, is inferior in everypossible situation except uncapped acc in which case AF2+2 gloves plus abtteur is likely superior. Like I said, trying too hard.



Also thaumas hands only has 2 more dex, and 2 LESS dex than hachiryu, you are only finding 5 dex because you are gimping other slots to benefit the set bonus. Also you mentionned that byakko has 5 str augment, so seriously, you are trying too hard with thaumas.

fun thing is Pchan seeing as i HAVE all the gear its just a matter of simply swap out X for Y, and im more concerned with making sure that what im swapping is actually an improvement.

and your math on thaumas hands is incorrect it has 10dex at that point since you get +2 for having 2 pieces on. so before you question my gearing on monk for a weapon i dont even have yet. learn to do basic math. you also never said in what situation abatteur are better until now so blow me.

Set bonus is +2 Stats for 2 pieces, +5 for 3 pieces, +10 for 4 pieces, and +15 for 5 pieces.
i had 3 on applied the +5 dex from set bonus as if it was on the legs.
