Never.
Inside abyssea, kamone, qirmiz, lokis and rr cap your +crit damage.
Outside abyssea, Iga cape will win because +3crit rate just maths better then +3crit damage when you have low crit rate. It's the same reason you use af3+2 body over lokis outside.

What about Oirandori over Kamome for offhand outside of abyssea? Seems like it would be competitive even excluding a worthwhile proc rate on oiran. 5basedmg, 4acc, slightly slower weapon vs 10% critdmg+, 8 attack

My estimate is that you would need around a 50 base damage katana with that 180-190 delay to outdo the crit damage bonus on kamome outside abyssea.
I cannot say at all how that add effect would do, as I do not have it, but I did try and get it once, for like 10 min.

Since I'm abit clueless, what's the benefit to using Soil gorget/belt for Hi when it's already got a relatively high ftp mod?

Cause the Neck slot generally sucks for raw damage.

Hope Torque would probably beat it in attack uncapped situations.

+Crit rate is really the best modifier for the ws outside abyssea.

I can attest to this- of our 2 kannagi and almace their damage jumped from a little under 1k hits to 2k and some even over easily last night with a COR rogue's roll

Coincidentally, I am also seeking RNG advice, and information for a COR, too. Despite this being a media thread, I don't have any screenshots to post -- rather, I'm doing this for my significant other, as they have an old RNG they're taking out of the closet, and a COR burned to 90. I have never played either job personally, and while my obsessive reading has helped me give them reasonable advice (e.g., Joy by itself for melee TP gain, MATK equipment is necessary to boost damage, et cetera), I wouldn't call myself educated.

Does anyone have any screenshots they can post of their builds for guidance? I was hoping to find some in this thread and not need to ask, but I think it's too detailed of a request for the "What's Better?" thread in Advanced, and the most recent COR post I discovered was a "Post Pictures of Your Gear" entry from 2008. I know no one really gives a shit about COR, but anything would be useful.

Newly 90 and only 500k is gonna get you gear like MNKs posted in the "gimp/confused/wtf" thread, so you can look there, I guess. Luckily, most of the best MNK gear just takes time to get, since it's all r/ex. Don't waste time making crappy ToTM h2h's, get started on Vere/Rev+2 trials, get seals for af3+1, etc. Spend the 500k you have on a brown belt (unless you have one already) at the very least, or use that money to get people to help you get a black belt. No idea what people are selling BBItems for these days.

Maybe list what you have already, and someone can tell you what else you can easily get.

So when I get to 90 I'll have to catch up on H2H skill, etc as well as get gear to start working on doing stuff at endgame. I can probably get my LS to help with simple abyssea NMs, but anything that requires more than a party I won't be able to do without shouting. I'm fine being gimped as long as I'm working towards not being gimp..but I want to at least wear stuff appropriate for my job/role/etc. Also I will probably quest Brown Belt..Black Belt on the other hand I'm not sure what I'll do.

There's nothing you need for 90 Mnk that you can't get with more than a party. Start your trials, get Brown Belt, and get Taurine Cesti as a placeholder weapon. Also, I'd recommend you have them farm the +1s while they're cleaving you up, killing two birds with one stone.

In that case, go full pink, get some augmented h2h from abyssea-ule chests, and work on the rest of the gear you'll need. I would still recommend spending the ~$500k you have on a brown belt, then quest one and sell that one. Brown Belt is miles ahead of anything else you'd have access to.

For the maat set it's pretty set in stone as I'm working on a budget.
For the middle-of-the-road set..Any easy upgrades I can get until I'm able to attain Af3+1/2 and other harder to get pieces?
For the third set am I doing it right? What pieces are wrong if any? What should be changed?

I know there are various situational/macro sets and I will throw those together when neccessary, but trying to get my bearings first.
