    I also get an occasional error 11018 too. (file access error while check.)

    Fixed it, I had a friend email me files stored in documents / my games... folder that doesnt come with the installer.... :/ Started downloading.

    Okay, I went back through and tried full screen which didn't work. Realized I had no idea if I had updated the drivers for nvidia/directx, but even after that I still can't get past that blank screen. Any last ideas before I do a full delete and start over?

    Does your GPU meet the minimum requirements?
    I know you have tried to run it without full screen. However, just for fun, try adding fullscreen=false to the end of the target path for the shortcut

    I'm having the same problem as Taco, except I see the little warning and SE logo and then it just goes black, although I can still move around the cursor in the window. I meet minimum specs so no idea what's going on, unless my install is screwed up somehow.

    EDIT: Fix'd, turns out the ffxivgame.exe that I downloaded to replace my incomplete one was out of date. Got one from my friend and it runs fine.

    In response to the 11023 Error. Finally figured it out after I've tried everything possible. (For me at least)

    I run PeerBlock (PeerGuardian), disable it, version check worked fine after that. PeerBlock was just f'ing with it hardcore.

    Beta Client Blues

    Every time I try to run the client I get an error saying it has stopped working. Has anyone been able to solve this problem? I understand them not giving tech support during the beta, but how can we test the game if we can't get it to work? -.-;

    This worked for me too. Program is starting to download the updated files.

    ya its integrated graphics, but its not underspeced. The comp is only like 5-6 months old

    I'm also getting this. I was able to install, get the updates, and play the beta just fine for 1 day. Then, it stopped working - everytime I would try and open the beta client, the box went black and windows automatically said "This program has stopped working" and it crashes. I did a fresh reinstall of the beta, still no dice. However, I chalked it up to my several problems:

    1) I am using Bootcamp Windows 7 on an intel iMac.
    2) The Windows 7 version is bootleg on top of that.
    3) It only broke after Apple did a software update (Apple installs its drivers for Windows if you use a dual boot, then uses a software update for new versions.)

    I figured it was something to do with my ghetto rig setup, but I guess other people are getting this problem, so I am not too sure now. I'm not so concerned because I just bought parts to upgrade my PC; I just wanted to test out if my Mac could play the beta. I only hope this doesn't happen to me again on my new PC build.

    Ah, anything integrated is going to be underspeced. Doubt you'll be even able to play the game even if / when it gets optimized with that thing. Someone more tech savvy can probably explain further.
