Kuya, halp. I'm currently scheduled to fly into San Juan on the 21st, but fly out of Ponce on the 25th. Flying out of Ponce (at 3:30 a.m.) is the only way I can go to Costa Rica.

Is that bad? How much will it suck for me to get from San Juan to Ponce? Should I stay in San Juan, Ponce, or somewhere else? GIVE ME YOUR GUIDANCE!

Dude, it's an island. Driving from San Juan to Ponce would take you at best 1 hour and at worst 2. Though this means you should leave San Juan by 11 to 12 pm. If you want to be comfortable and check out Ponce before you go, then you can head there the day before (go to Ponce on the 24th or 23rd) and mess around, and then leave.

But you aren't off the hook yet. Where should I stay in San Juan? Cheapest hotels I can find are around $65/night on kayak.com, which is acceptable if they aren't completely shitty (I'm not hard to please, I just want a clean room. Being on a cool island beach would be neat though). If there are other options I'm not going to find on the internet, like some cool cheap local little cabana or um...shit I dunno you live there.

I live in Toa Baja, the metropolitan area, it's near San Juan. I'll have to check with some friend to see if there's some suitable place, since i really don't know. What's the name of the place you're staying at for the time being?

Also, i am not very sure on the buses actually, since they're usually limited to the metropolitan area, and Ponce kind of isn't connected, so i'll have to ask around about this too. Also going to check on the renting a car thing, so i'll be right with you.

I don't have a hotel booked right now - all I know is I'm flying into San Juan on Tuesday the 21st and flying out of Ponce at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday the 25th.

If it comes down to it, I'll try to get a good deal via Priceline bidding, but if you know of something cool and cheap I'm all ears.

Fuck. Renting a car from SJU and returning to SJU I could get one for $14 a day.

Renting from SJU and returning to Ponce (which is what I need to do) - cheapest I can find is like $51/day.......

I might actually rent one in SJU, return it to SJU 3 days later and immediately pickup another car in SJU for less than a day, that I'll use to take to PSE, so I only have to pay the $45 for one day instead of 4. That'll work.
