Didn't think of giving this game a chance at first, but man it's addicting (like most atlus games, might I add..)
Having a laugh here. One of the online stores decided to offer the US version of Catherine and (besides it being overpriced, my friend imported it himself and got it a lot cheaper) the descriptions calls the game "an erotic version of Silent Hill". Oh what a stupid way to garner attention.
I don't think that's the case here. In the case of this store they always seem pretty "involved" and all, but this time I think they're just trying to make some easy money: the jacked up price, plus reading the whole description you'd see that they did their best to avoid saying it's mainly a puzzle game. Too bad they always add a trailer of the game on the product site so people can just see it for themselves :D
All in all, they're acting pretty ignorant here and some customers will be angry for sure. People are already calling them out on it in the comments section![]()
Speaking of Japanese version, any differences beside the language?
I don't know for 100% but didn't they release a harder difficulty in JP? or was the difficulty toned down for final release? :s I feel like one of the two was said at one point or another just can't recall where I remember hearing it.
That's not exactly correct. The game was patched long before it released stateside because even the JPs bitched about it being too hard. We got the patched JP version, which (as far as I can recall) added the code entry for the Very Easy mode and toned down normal and hard slightly.
Almost done with play #1. Finally got to the 'real' boss levels.
I think it's just because I'm getting better at it, but the last two bosses before the finale seemed a lot easier than earlier ones.
The Cathedral pissed me off though. Screwed up and lost my chain on the last level before the stairs. ><
undo is amazing >.>
I would kill myself and just redo the level so many times also. Think i spent an hr gold'ing day 9 in just redoing stuff over and over again since stupid random stuff would usually mess me up
Oh, the best thing about undo is that it resets the timer on your chains. So if you just lost your chain bonus, and you do undo, it will set your time-remaining to max even though on your last move it had like 1 sec left or w/e. So its open to massive abuse. I didn't pay attention to realize it did this until like day 7 or 8
So everything I read about this game before it's release convinced me that I didn't want to play it. After reading some comments here and there I decided to try out the demo. What a sick and twisted, but incredible game. I picked it up yesterday and played it a bit and I'm just thoroughly impressed. The style, voice acting, gameplay, everything is really good. The story and situations Vincent is put in is both hilarious and frightening. I can't wait to finish this one.
Yahtzee reviewed it yesterday, in case anybody missed it.
Babel just made me give up on the plat, no way in hell. On a brighter note the game was fantastic
Babel is that hard? damnI was going to do the 3 levels this weekend after I finished all the ending achievements. It's only 3 levels. How hard can it be D:
