Please tell me there will be no miasma in Abyssea Attohwa. Jesus christ I hate that Miasma.

When I first saw that hat on the BLU

I thought of Emp hairpin for some reason.
Fuck the Miasma, what about that God forsaken mountain climb...
Just watch them stick either the tier 5 NM up there, or one of the encampments with NO CONFLUX to get you up there...
I very much look forward to wearing that cool gear on BLU.
Which they won't. It will be 3 more alternate-universe zones. Most likely Attohwa Chasm for Windurst, Lufaise Meadows for San d'Oria, and maybe something like Dangruf Wadi for Bastok!
All that not synergy gear?
Bodies and weapons are old gear, everything else looks new to my eyes.
funny how they show the rdm with a level 51 stave instead of a magians one >_>
and I dont really see the point in low-man screenshots ala visions pre-release shots, i bet those things will hit like a truck ;-/
well thats an interesting turn of events...
seems like they'll be using CoP zones for Scars..
so far, the ones that are kinda clear to us are Attohwa Chasm and Lufaise Meadows (or Misareaux? lets assume Lufaise for now)..
there looks likes theres another zone they haven't revealed.
If the last zone is another outdoor CoP zone.. it could be...
Uleguerand Range
Bibiki Bay
Carpenters' Landing
Misareaux Coast
Al'Taieu
the likelihood of Al'Taieu seems kinda low since the other 2 were relatively easy to access areas in CoP.. and Carpenter's Landing seems pretty small.. so probably not that one...
Bibiki Bay seems kinda small too.. so I have my doubts..
And if the zones are tied to each nation like in Vision, then there'd be 2 near Windurst, which is not likely too..
So.. that kinda leaves Misereaux Coast and Uleguerand Range.. both fairly large zones.
both kinda have the same proximity to Bastok and Sandy.. so its kinda hard to say..
Its possible they might use both Misareaux and Lufaise since both are huge zones with much potential... tho for the sake of variety i think Uleguerand would be a great zone..
anyway we'd likely find out by Monday since the video trailer usually comes when pre-sales go live.
It seems theyll be releasing AF3 this update... maybe not all parts but at least the head piece.. The RDM one is kinda obvious i think.. the BLU one is less certain.. it does share the cloth over mouth characteristics of the keffiyeh.. but theres nothing to rule against it saying its not just a new design..
anyway the definitive verdict is out on both until datamining / website details on that one...
as for the appearance of the new iron giant mob.. i kinda thing its another member of the Caturae (chess) family..
we have Iratham, the rook/chariot piece from Vision..
and now this giant guy, who looks like a building lol, could be a 'castle', or 'rook'..
then we have archaic chariots. and chariots are equivalent to rooks...
Maybe archaic machinery are all Caturae too..
would be interesting to see if they can tie Abyssea into Salvage backstory too..
I really hope they put the new abyssea on a different stone system than tahrongi/la theine/konschtat. Would be nice to alternate between the two, rather than having to wait because you ran out of stones.
Probably same stone system, but new key items that stack with the previous ones, so that your stones refresh faster. Also, I believe that the only reason why we don't see any new AFv3 bodies and other pieces in the screenshot's is either mainly because they aren't finished with the design yet for those pieces (At Vanafest they barely finished BLM and PLD for the show), or it will be a situation where you only get two or three pieces this update and the final pieces in the next.
I have a different theory on the locations.
Assuming those are Lufaise/Attohwa (or possibly Bubu/Bibiki), then I'm going to bet on either Valkurm or Gustav Tunnel being the third zone.
Konschtat/La Theine/Tahrongi are all places that the citizens of the three nations fled to after the attacks. Lufaise/Attohwa could be where the residents of the Safehold and Mhaura escaped to, which leaves Selbina. And then the final expansion would be Kazham/Rabao/Norg, which would give you Altepa, likely one of the jungle zones, and either SSG or Ifrit's Cauldron.
That is, assuming they don't just go with the Jeuno zones, but I'm guessing the storyline will bear out either that Jeuno is completely destroyed, or that it's the source of all the trouble (Eald'narche and Kam'lanaut).
Depends how they wanna handle the story, or if they even care. There is no crags, so the Zilart never opened the gate of the gods, yet there are UFOs and xzomits out and about. And there was no meltdown, yet the tonberry are out....
Soooooo, either they dont care about continuity and this is just a battle zone afterall, or abyssea has a radically different timeline (that they hopefully mesh out).
Anyone up for Rank 10 Abyssea-Bastok missions?
Abyssea is just a jumble of reused shit that allows them to work on FFXIV. I don't think there's much more to it than that.
