I'm sure they don't but they are trying to nail him any possible way they can, this happens all the time... I don't know why anyone is really reading into this shit. It won't stick but that won't stop them from trying... doesn't hurt their case against him at all.

As others said, they'll try and nail him in any way possible in order to "regain" some of the money they will lose with the PS3 being less secure. If being a 4-legged animal is a crime, they would try and nail him for that by stating his arms could potentially be used as legs for crawling, thus making him "4-limbed"

Can't wait to see how this plays out in the future with homebrewing and such, how many years has sony been filing lawsuits and S&D orders to homebrew makers? the more they fight the more they lose, look at MS, the console is pirated to hell but does MS make a big shit about it? nope, silent console bans, that it, and everyone knows the risk. I think sony is only doing this because they've lost so much money and for them to start gaining money and be hit with this must be hard for them.

Out of the 8 charges, 6-7 are pretty meaningless.

Here is a little bit of what this professor has done in the past.

David Touretzky is an Internet free speech activist. He has supported several movements in what he perceives as abuse of the legal system by government and private authorities.

In 2000, Touretzky testified as an expert witness for the defense in Universal City Studios et al. v. Reimerdes et al., a suit brought by seven motion picture studios against the publishers of 2600: The Hacker Quarterly (the case name refers to Shawn Reimerdes, an unrelated defendant who settled prior to trial.) The suit concerned the publication of DVD decryption software known as DeCSS, which the plaintiffs asserted was illegal under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Dr. Touretzky testified as an expert in computer science on the expressive nature of computer code, and convinced the court that code was indeed speech. Touretzky also created an online gallery of various renditions of the DeCSS software. Readers sent in their own renditions of the decryption algorithm, including a mathematical description, a haiku, and a square dance.

In reaction to the federal prosecution and eventual imprisonment of 18-year old political activist Sherman Austin for hosting bomb-making instructions entitled Reclaim Guide on his web site, Dr. Touretzky provided a mirror on his Carnegie Mellon website for more than two years, although he acknowledged on the website that his own reposting of the information did not violate the plain language of the statute under which Austin was convicted.[7] In May 2004, to avoid harassment of the university and controversy in the media, Dr. Touretzky moved the mirror from the Carnegie Mellon server to a private site.[8][9]

In 2011, Touretzky began hosting a mirror of the website of George Hotz, containing executable files and instructions facilitating the jailbreaking of the Sony PlayStation 3, after Sony filed lawsuits against Hotz and other hackers aiming to utilize the takedown provisions of the DMCA to remove the content from the Internet.

Mr. Hotz has never utilized an account with PayPal in connection with any activity relating to the Playstation computer. Affidavit of George Hotz ¶ 7. In fact, Mr. Hotz expressly tells people on his website not to give him donations for his efforts. Even more harmful to Sony’s personal jurisdiction argument, the only evidence put forward of Mr. Hotz’ Paypal account appears to be a transaction initiated by the plaintiff

So, anybody running any games of the new 3.55cfw?

I got a couple of downloaded games and cfw-jb on my ps3 but having a difficult time ascertaining other people's tutorials >_>.
Since everything is still a bit fresh with 3.55cfw, here is hoping someone will soon write a nice "Here you go lazy fuck" tutorial!

Nevermind, after of couple of hours of looking into it, I figured it out. Currently testing Bayonetta & Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. Both
working with out problems. Could probably do online too but I don't want to risk getting banned . Will totally need a back up ps3 soon.

Should just play online anyway if you can, sooner or later you will get banned off psn for playing backups. Only games that don't have updates will let you play online anyway. Only a few have been patched to play online (MW2, BlackOps, NFS:HP and NBA Jam. Assassins Creed Brotherhood is said to be playable online but I haven't tried it.


Off topic: Has anyone played Mindjack yet? I've played it for 2 hours and I'm still confused.
