Just a heads up, there are people reporting bricks after updating from 3.55 CFW to 3.56 OFW.

Don't know why they updated, but if you need to.... remember to delete/backup everything and restore to 3.55 OFW before updating.

I used this. Do basically everything it shows and it shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes (downloading the files not being taken into account)

Thanks I got some questions ( I followed the part 1 and 2 and all works)

1) I used the Gaia Backup manager like the guide So Now I have to buy a USB disk and copy it in my USB disk then plug it in my PS3??
2) When I copy the game i just copy it at the root of the disk?
3) Like some people asked, is PSN still safe or I'm done with PSN?

3) PSN is completely out of reach on CFW 3.55. Actually, I guess you can DNS bypass it, but I'm sure they'll patch that soon. Although, I've read it doesn't really work for everyone.

Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings > OK > Custom > You Choose > Manual Settings > Auto > Auto > Do Not Set > Manual > Primary DNS = 67.202.81.137 Secondary DNS = 67.202.81.137 > Automatic > Do Not Use > Enable > X

Was posted on psx-scene. I haven't tested myself yet, but I will soon later tonight. If you want to be on the safe side, I'd wait an stay on CFW. I'm sure they'll come up with something new in a few weeks.

Yeah but using the FTP method will copy the game directly to my PS3 HDD right? So a 120gig will fill up fast no?


2nd can you play PS2 games on jailbroken PS3?

You could probably install 7-10 games on it, for example Batman: AA was 9g, LB2 was about 17, and Assassins Creed: Brotherhood was 7.5

Well you can use an USB Disk formatted in FAT32 but some games require internal HDD to work, and some other games have files larger than 4GB which isn't obviously gonna work on FAT32

If your ps3 is not backwards compatible then you cannot play ps2 games regardless of it being jailbroken or not.

I don't remember very well but, it's either Dolphin or pcsx2 that are working on a port. Depending on which, or if both, that could be the only
way to play ps2/wii/gamecube games on non-backwards compatible ps3s.

What's this I hear about people being banned from PSN for being on 3.55? I can't tell if it's because they glitched on Black Ops or because it's something else.

The DNS bypass still works if you wanna play online, not sure when they plan on patching this.

So there's varying reports circling around that PS3's are being console banned from logging into Black Ops online. Not sure how legit it is, but it's enough to make slightly concerned.

For those who have actually downloaded a bunch of games now, how many actually have (single) files over 4 GB? Got a 1 TB HD recently that I was planning to use for playing stuff off, was hoping to be able to transfer games straight to it, but being that it has to be in FAT32 it's limited to 4 GB transfers at most. I figured most games wouldn't have any single files going that high, but I've yet to download any yet.

A friend of mine got his BO console banned, and he had the 15th glitch from the CFW done. I believe its just limited to if you have had the glitch done or not, and how well you hid it.
