You always wait it out when a new exploit is revealed.
Best to wait and see how Sony reacts first.

depends on how impatient you are. the only comments i read about dumping the files were, that they couldn't access the stick on any windows operating system. apparently, it's not recognized as regular usb device. give it some time until some scene guys get their hands on it and post, what's possible or ot.
One problem though guys.
Spoiler: show
"We're disabling all USB ports, fuck you"
They CAN'T do that. You need the USB port to charge the controllers.
AND you need it for the PS3 Eye camera, that you NEED to make the Move controller work.
PS3 games can require you to update the firmware before they'll play, so it sort of makes this useless right?
lol this is golden

Now that we've determined that the PSJailbreak dongle is real ... the question of its authenticity has abruptly been made moot. The Australian Federal Court has temporarily enjoined retailers from selling or distributing the devices. The court also ordered that a number of PSJailbreaks are to be "released to [Sony] for such analysis, including destructive analysis, as the Applicants think fit, upon the payment to the applicable respondent of its retail price for each such PSJailbreak Device."
If we're reading this correctly, that means that OzModchips and the other named retailers are legally forbidden from selling PSJailbreaks outside of Sony, and legally forced to sell PSJailbreaks to Sony. In any case, once Sony's had a chance to figure out exactly how this thing works, it basically won't matter if the injunction is lifted later, as the PSJailbreak will be rendered useless by a firmware update.
Im pretty sure the only reason flash carts for DS are available is because no one was stupid enough to plaster the news all over the internet when they first invented one
Ain't gonna do shit. Might stop sales in Australia, but isn't gonna stop the rest of the world. If a firmware fix comes out, people that are planning on getting this just won't update, or will buy a second console to play online with.
You will still likely be limited to the prior games, I know the psp's modding community is no where near as large as it once was. I honestly don't see the point of going through all the trouble, dropping $100+ for a burner, another $200 for a usb stick and then $50 for a stack of blurays. a lot of burners don't even do dual layer discs.
This is of course the "current" state of things. People could get games to load off a external drive at some point (however the transfer rate would be abysmal due to USB restrictions 40MB/s I believe) and even then you would need a pretty huge HD to hold the bluray discs.
I honestly don't really see it's worth. Currently you could pay game fly for something like 3 years before u even break even with this approach, and that is a ton of games during that period.
Huh? The jigkick only works from the hard drive. You can backup games to external or internal hard drive. Doesn't work with burned blu-rays, and the USB stick right now is $120 and will likely be cloned (making the price plummet) or the files and a guide to do it yourself on the internet will come out sooner or later.
Somebody forgot to post that:

And thus did PS3 Jailbreak meet its untimely demise. We barely knew you.
Not sure why people are acting like the Australian reseller, OzModChips are the only guys with these things. They've been sent to a lot of places, Spain, Germany and Canada to name a few. These things were made in China.
I don't REALLY think it is the last we are going to see of it. I do think that Sony is going to go after it much faster and harder than Nintendo did the R4 though. I guess I just have low hopes for it ever becoming as affordable as it should be. I also expect Sony to update more combatively against it compared to their PSP AP measures.
there already is a shop which sells clones for 40 euros + the chinese are selling too, sony can't touch them. but in much more interesting news, the dongle has been reverse engineered. first important step is done![]()
There's a open source one now
