Just clear your play history, and then you should be good to play online.

Of course, don't be stupid and only play online games you own. So don't try bootlegs online.

Unless of course you'd going the route to spoof your console id....then your good for anything really.

I know it's a bit late, but, did you guys get an e-mail from Sony regardless if you went online? I did try MvC3 online a few days before it was out. Before that, I only played backed up games online from Multiman.
I don't think I've read a case of anyone getting "banned" yet. Did read a few getting banned for cheating though.

Just curious, I have a way old version of multiMAN on the PS3. Do I just need to run the .pkg and it'll update itself? Or delete the old one first, then run the .pkg?

awesome, one of three things made my backups stop working.

i attempted to install fuckpsn and replaced certificate 27 but kept the original as a backup
updated multiman
installed BDEMU-355KM.pkg

any ideas before i format it and start back from fresh 3.55?

edit: i always used gaia up until updating multiman today and even gaia wont work now

i fixed it, it fucked up my discless loading since my BR drive doesnt work heh. i'm probably not going to spoof it since fuck psn won't work... talk about target to get banned quick.

upgrading to the latest multiman stopped my disc emulation from working but the old multiman doesn't support 3.60 spoofing (i don't own any ps3 games) so I went back to the old multiman, I used to use the charles/ps3dns method but since the latest update is 3.60 now and not 3.56 I can't anymore

Sony have fixed all the spoofers/fuckPSN/etc for connecting to PSN.

So far everyone is getting asked for a system update, ugh. Dunno whether to swap back to OFW or wait it out and see if a new workaround is made.

Edit: Updated 3.55 CFW > 3.55 OFW > 3.60 OFW just fine. Not banned from PSN or anything. Too lazy to deal with the constant back and forthing that's more than likely going to happen. Some people are claiming it's going to be extremely easy to make a new workaround though, so might be worthwhile waiting.

So far the Kinect has been hacked to give giant tits to a man, make you a corpse-kicking robot, and now the most poignant hack of all — making it work on a PlayStation 3 (sort of).

Software Programmer Shantanu Goel posted a video of his recent work-in-progress yesterday showing the Kinect running on a PlayStation 3, even launching and (poorly) controlling Killzone 3. While it’s easy to watch the video and cry foul, the developer has freely published his work in progress for anyone to try, though he stresses it’s a pre-alpha release, and there’s still loads of work to be done. If you want to try your hand, simply go to his website, download the project, and follow these easy-to-understand instructions:

1. Make sure that the above 4 things are installed on your machine and working fine.

2. Download the source of this project to the NITE Samples directory. You can even place it anywhere else but you would need to tweak the makefile to account for the changed paths.

3. Make any changes to the source that you need.

4. Change the included ps3 controller config xml file and place it in one of the locations where diyps3controller can find it.

5. Run make -f kinect-ps3.mak

6. The executable will be available in Samples/Bin directory of NITE.

7. Run kinect-ps3 (without any arguments)

8. Run emuclient (from ps3 controller software) and choose the new xml config file

9. “Become the controller” :D

I’m familiar with Linux and compiling code, and I still have very little idea of what needs to be done to get that up and running. Still, it’s truly amazing what the community keeps coming up with.

The program makes use of several other programs in order to provide this functionality. To compile/use it, you also need the following programs:

1. OpenNI Libraries

2. NITE Libraries

3. PrimeSense Libraries for kinect

4. DIYPS3Controller

Default Config:

Menu Profile – This is the default profile that kinect-ps3 starts with and allows to operate the PS3 menus. Moving hand in any direction will move the ps3 menus as if you were using the DPAD with those directions keys pressed. If you run out of the kinect’s watched space, then just do a backward push with your hand, bring your hand to center and then again do the backward push and continue scrolling. This is like you lift your finger up and then start dragging from edges of a laptop’s touchpad.For selecting any item, make two successive push movements with your hand without changing any x-y direction.

Game Profile – This profile can be switched to by doing 3 successive backward movements of the hand while in Menu profile. Right now I’ve implemented only directional controls in game profile because I’m still struggling with multiple hands detections and skeletal tracking. A full profile will be activated soon enough. Currently, the your hand’s x/y movements and directly translated to right stick x/y movements (e.g. this is looking in different directions in various FPS games). Moving the hand towards or away from kinect (z-axis) translate to left stick y movements (e.g. this is moving fowards or backwards in most FPS games).

-Full Menu and Game profiles

- Skeletal tracking for better game profiles

- Switching back to menu profiles from game profiles

- Easier way to specify user custom profiles instead of changing code for the same

- Performance improvement for game profiles

If I wanted to go back to OFW (I'm kinda done with the games I got from Netflix) how would I go about doing it? I'm assuming first to erase all the games in the /GAMEZ folder, and then the associated programs like multiMAN and all. Then what, just go to the PSNStore and update, and I'll be all good?

I deleted all the games off my HD and then all the homebrew apps. Then just used recovery mode to go back to 3.55 OFW, then update normally to 3.60 OFW. Some people are far more paranoid than I and suggest clearing your history and shit which you need some other homebrew for. I don't know if that is really required or not, some people say they can track certain game IDs or something but I haven't heard of anyone getting banned after going back to OFW yet. In hindsight I don't think I even deleted the /GAMES folder I had (just used my backup manager to delete the games themselves, lol) and I haven't been hit with a ban, maybe I'll wake up to a nice treat from Sony one day though.

They probably don't care anymore, since your on a non-hackable OFW now.

Don't think the newest version is hackable. If you don't need the PSN, and want to be able to hack in the future, I'd say just leave it. Or if you want to play a game that requires a newer version you may have to upgrade.

I haven't upgraded yet, hell, I haven't even upgraded to a custom firmware yet, because I just haven't had the time to even play my PS3, or any desire to play anything on it, so I've just been leaving it until I need it, and I hope that all the custom firmware kinks have been figured out by then.

You can just use your PSN account on his PS3 and redownload them through PlayStation Store. You can download stuff on up to 5 consoles, lots of people use it to share games and DLC.
