my .pkg files aren't showing up anymorei don't know why.. tried on 2 ps3's.. Any idea? Tried installing the pkg for L.A Noire
I don't think that's gonna help him any. Have you tried a different usb?
I just d/led SFII HD Remix. How do I install it on my ps3? Do i need to Home Brew the PS3? Or is there a way to FTP it to my PS3?
I assume you have it on 3.55 CFW if so throw it on the root of a USB drive and go to "Install package files" folder under the games tab it should be there. As for FTPing ya there's a way but i have no idea what folder you would need it under.
I figure I should ask here rather than starting it's own thread.
For the PSP, has anyone tried out neur0n's CFW 6.39 ME (up to v3, whichever), and what's the verdict?
As easy to use as the old Dark Alex M33's? Is the age of patching ISO's to use them ended?
Lastly, what's the current situation with PSP CFW and the PSP PSN? Or rather, what was it before the PSN went down?
Been using 6.25 pro-b2 or w/e it's called for a while now, super easy to install, and I never had to patch any games <_<
No idea about the new one, sorry
6.20 PRO B6 seems to be the best since you can make it permanent. There is now a 6.39 Pro B6 if you have a newer PSP or you updated it. If you are on 6.38 OFW you can either upgrade to 6.39 or downgrade to 6.20 / 6.35. PRO B6 adds PSN support.
Been using neur0n's CFW for a while now, I really like it. Easy network updates (I don't even have to check the site or anything and I can update my firmware while not even at home, not a big plus for some but I like it) XMB-enabled plugin-manager, pretty nifty.
Also, it's VERY lightweight. More than prometheus for certain(would have issues with remotejoy lagging on m33 and prometheus but no longer do on this CFW, which is nifty). Also, this CFW works with PSN.
Nice to know. Thank's Chari
I'm trying to read up on what Freeko meant by "permanent", I'm guessing it has to do with not having to something funny each time you turn on your psp, is that right?
(Who would live with that, if it doesn't just WORK like M33, it ain't worth installing)
If so, is the 6.39 ME "permanent"?
Permanent means you can have the PSP boot up with the 6.20 PRO B6 CFW ( 6.20 is the only one that can be permanent I think). The other PRO B6 are the same except the PSP boots up in regular firmware then you choose a fast recovery file under games and in 5 seconds you are back to PRO B6 CFW. 5 seconds to go from OFW to CFW isn't a big deal. My Go is on 6.39 PRO B6 and it takes 5 seconds or so to run the CFW. With the newest firmwares there is no need to patch games anymore, you just put the iso on the psp and enjoy.
It works on everything but the Go, you have to use the live version to get it up on there but it does.
I don't know all the details because I don't need to worry about that shit as I have an earlier model PSP-2000, but I do know that he's got it going on.
Oh, I do have one complaint about neur0n's CFW (though minor). The option to create a pandora battery in recovery mode did not appear to work for me.
Well, I don't even have a spare battery/pandora. On the off chance it bricks or I fuck something up, I have a friend with a pandora.
Update successful, now running 6.39 ME 4.
Now, how exactly do I connect this thing to the PSN without getting my ass bant?
Any do/do not's?
I've just been using it normally.
Only "don'ts" I can think of are... don't do anything you wouldn't normally be able to do on PSN and don't stay connected 24/7.
Do check every once in a while to see if people have been banned on that firmware and if so... just wait it out til there's a fix or something. Other than that I don't know what to tell ya
RE: PS3: so, for the current state between checking game compatibility and firmware, is the process as simple as running multiman's EBOOTfix against anything not compatible with 3.55 but below 3.60? Checking multiple forums and seeing a lot of fractured information so I'm just trying to sift through and get the most up-to-date streamlined process. Trying out the process right now with Dragon Age 2, but waiting for the transfer from external. Little confused when I see patches and pkgs all over the place that may or may not be the same thing I'm doing or just for installing the games as PSN-icons.
http://www.ps3news.com/ps3-hacks-jai...s-pdf-arrives/Today we received word from mas that he and xorloser have made available a PS3 Cell BE (Broadband Engine) Secure Boot Process PDF document for other PlayStation 3 developers.
Speaking briefly to xorloser, he stated mas recently contacted him with the chart for examination and from there some updates and corrections were made to the diagram until the revised public version was born.
Very cool PS3 developments indeed, and cheers for clarifying the exact PS3 boot process guys!
