No MNK? No access to usu set? I'd go OAT or STR path easily if no MNK. Since you use aurore hands for STR, why not use creek M mitts for 2 more STR?
As for body, if you don't have access to relic armor for PUP, then do you have mirke wardecors from ACP available? Can easily make that into an awesome TP/WS piece for PUP. If not, then could look into shikkoku togi made from synergy (+8 acc/atk, +4 STR) or wing it with enkidu's harnass.
thanks!i don't have mnk ya,and no usu parts.i used creek m mitts till few days ago, then thought about selling them since they still going for good price on my server.i'll prolly start stg taipans path then!i have relic, but acp is already taken.what would be better between faith and gorget btw?
I'd take gorget personally for ws.
Hi there, sorry for this question, but I'm a bit out of touch with FFXI. I was thinking of coming back and focusing on my thf. I'm still lv 75 and my two weapons currently are:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ws/thfmain.jpg
I previously couldn't afford a blau, but since they are dirt cheap now, I'm thinking I should pick one up and change out my combo. What would be a good set for lv 75?
start magian weps, by time you solo them all you may just be 85 ;D
most thf i know who really are into the job are going for this
str kila x2
dex kila x2
eva kila x2
the oat, oa3 dagger
there are a few more that friends have got for certain things (pdt, the addition effect procs, going for empyreans), but those above will keep you plenty busy. you will kill around 11k ep mobs so you will get pretty decent xp by time your done. say you just get 20xp per mob on avg because you do them in a party, that is still 220k xp you will have by time your done ;D so at least lv80, now if you solo a bit of them for 80xp a pop you will easily be 85. welcome back to ffxi ;D
by time your all done with that you will have killed around
What's better? Amanomurakumo (85) or Masamune (85)
Amanomurakumo
(Great Katana) All Races
DMG: 108 Delay: 437 Accuracy +30
"Tachi: Kaiten"
Additional effect: Weakens attacks
Lv. 85 SAM
VS.
Masamune
(Great Katana) All Races
DMG: 107 Delay: 437 STR +10
"Tachi: Fudo"
Aftermath: Occ. deals double damage
Lv. 85 SAM
Masamune
Probably that having the "best" weapon for any job coming from Zilart-era content is a bit silly, but we're getting into derail land here.
There are still three probable upgrades to the Empyreans/Mythics/Relics. Things are (and will be) in a state of flux until we hit the final cap and the final weapon stats. Who knows, maybe Squeenix will pull its collective head out of its ass.
Heaven forbid we hold off on the brick-shitting until we see the final weapons.
inb4 'white knight'
Prediction: Relics will gain Empyrean WSs (and not the other way around) while having slightly better stats.
For Blade: Jin using RR and VV atmas:
Byakkos haidate vs Hachiryu Haidate vs Usukane Legs?
Makhila +1
DMG 56 Delay 288
Weapon Skill: DMG:+10%
vs.
Makhila +1
DMG 56 Delay 288
"Store TP"+13
Is Kamome (the increase crit hit dmg katana) one of the best offhands currently for nin with RR atma? And if so, what would be best to use for offhand until obtaining that?
Also, aside from the empyrean/tobi+1, what would be a good mainhand? The 10%ws dmg Uzura+1 worth it? Or would the fire path or something else be better?
Unless the Store TP will increase your WS frequency by more than 10%, the WS DMG+ will win.
In most setups, Store TP +13 will knock 1-2 hits off of your hits-to-100%, and unless you're dual-wielding a KC it won't come close to increasing your WS frequency by 10%.
For a more specific answer, you'd need to provide more information (e.g., equipment used).
Word on the street is that kamome is a 5% increase in crit damage so... I'll stick with OAT offhand since 5% is still piddly even if you did a 3k jin, but with OAT you can bust out faster 3k jins. I'd do fire path since it's a fine mainhand, while you can work towards tobi+1 (or kannagi if you're hardcore).
Higher crit rate = better RR. It means better overall dmg, too, but more so for WS because of the innate crit increase.
Better RR = more importance on ws frequency = OaT jumps in quality.
As far as the magnus stone weapons, it's just a matter of their crits being ridonculous. Not saying they're a best option, haven't fucked with the math on that at all, simply that they're pretty damn impressive. It's not like they proc once in a blue moon.
Jin is 30% DEX/STR and fSTR will be capped regardless of what you choose. I recommend actually working out the mod% and seeing which piece gives you the most +damage.
I see it like this:
B.Haidate - 15 towards mods, no Attack and Accuracy is probably irrelevant (3-4 base damage)
H.Haidate - 10 towards mods, 10 Attack (2-3 base damage)
Usu legs - 10 towards mods, 12-13 Attack (2-4 base damage, 2 much more likely than 4)
So, (barring any rounding oddities), I'd say you can probably knock H.Haidate out of the competition. You need to convert those "points towards mods" into actual damage for yourself including Abyssea buffs ( floor{floor[Total DEX*.85]*.3}+ floor{floor[Total STR*.85]*.3} ) to really know for sure.
