As far as the magnus stone weapons, it's just a matter of their crits being ridonculous. Not saying they're a best option, haven't fucked with the math on that at all, simply that they're pretty damn impressive. It's not like they proc once in a blue moon.
Ugh, not what I meant. Critrate doesn't affect the initial choice between weapon X and weapon Y if said weapons only differ in terms of DMG, delay, OAX or OADD. They're entirely seperate and crits will affect the weapon's output by the same percentage. If the job uses a crit WS, weapon differences in WS/TP ratio don't matter either.

I'm not sure this is true. Crit damage+% would affects your TP/WS split evenly... if Crit rate WSs didn't have a critical hit rate boost even at 100TP iirc (Masa's RR tests were never completed, but I think he got far enough to say Raging Rush has +10%.) Higher crit rates during WS is going to make it alter your TP/WS split. Lower base damage but higher WS frequency weapons (like a 5-hit OAT) would benefit from this boost (and weaponskill mods), and it would overall make them a more appealing weapon. Double damage weapons (that don't proc during WS) would not benefit from this.

For a more specific answer, you'd need to provide more information (e.g., equipment used).
Thank you, I understand what you are saying. I was leaning towards the 10% DMG+ and just needed that comfort. Thank you.

Ah you're right, if weaponskills gain an initial crit+ boost it does affect the choice; then again it's fair to say it's not a large bonus for the popular weaponskills and not a large factor with Razed.

    For SAM -

What's better: 5-hit build with 18% gear haste, or 6-hit build with 21% haste?

(i.e. I'd need to swap out dusk gloves TP/Alky WS for Hachiman Gloves TP/WS to achieve 5-hit)

Hm, that was my general idea. I think that I'll stick with byakkos for the moment then due to the fact I don't cap acc on the higher tier NMs still

Going from 6 hit to 5 hit is similar to gaining double digit haste, so definitely go for the 5hit.

Between RR and current dex levels with cruor buffs, raging rush is virtually sneak attacked on all hits every time. Same with jin, rampage, etc. It's really rather ridiculous.

    For BLU Nukes (INT+MND/INT/MND)
Hecate Cape vs (Prism/Gleeman/Aslan) (I know +6s are out but these are what I have available).

when I tested they seemed about the same, but I don't think I have enough sample size.

5hit should win out there, but see below for math, it's nowhere near what Salodin is saying.

Not true at all. 6hit>5hit is going from 1WS/5 swings to 1WS/4swings, or .2 to .25 or 25% increase in WS damage only. If you assume WS makes up 60% of your damage, that's a 15% increase in total damage. Now then, assuming double march + haste, you have 36.5% magic haste, add on 18% gear for 54.5.
    1/(1-.545) = 2.1978
    Add 3 haste:
    1/(1-.575) = 2.3529, 7.06% increase in total damage done.
    Make that 5 haste:
    1/(1-.595) = 2.4691, 12.3% increase in total damage done.

Assuming you're using Hasso without AF3 legs.
    1/(1-.645) = 2.8169
    Add 3 haste:
    1/(1-.675) = 3.0769, 9.2% increase in total damage done.

Anyway, 6>5hit is equal to 5%ish haste in what I consider to be a normal situation (marchx2+haste). Considering you're probably losing other stats too though, 5 haste is the most you should be realistically sacrificing here (and even that is close...). Once you add Hasso or a dancer (and AF3 legs with Hasso), suddenly 3% is the most you should be dropping. Also, if you're using RR+VV inside Abyssea, this will skew the TP/WS split, favoring more haste.

Awesome, thank you. Exactly what I wanted to know.

Depends how much you care about FFXI outside Abyssea and what your WS mods are. With WAR and DNC (RR and VV), inside Abyssea I don't need Accuracy at all and am capped on fSTR, so the only real use for stats I have is for WS mods. My Dancer uses Evisceration (30% DEX) and my WAR uses Raging Rush (35% STR). If I wanted to do better damage on my DNC in Abyssea, I'd switch my merits to DEX. For the ~1 point of base damage it'd add to my Eviscerations though, I don't think it's worth taking that 1 point of base damage away from my WAR or losing 1 fSTR outside of Abyssea.

tl;dr: Unless you're really dedicated to a job with a single high mod% WS that you use exclusively in Abyssea, you'd be wasting your time meritting things other than STR.

Not to mention they already have a multi-hit critical, so I don't think Victory Smite would be as much of a gain (if it is a gain?).

    (adding together hits)

    Stringing Pummel- 5.75 fTP, 32% STR/VIT
Victory Smite- 5.4 fTP, 50% STR

It would come down the to ODD vs Delay difference I would think.

Quick Question, Likely answered, if it has been i'll accept a link to it in place of a explination =.=

    Dagger combos:
    Kila+1/Auric
    vs
    Kila+1/Rapidus
    vs
    Auric/Rapidus

Which would be best for DPS/etc/overall, Assume Capped Accuracy and STR or DEX kila.

    What would win, why/why not?

    Capped acc:

    STR Kila x2 > STR/Auric > STR/Rapidus > Auric/Rapidus

    Uncapped:

STR Kila/DEX Kila if you can use the acc from the DEX Kila (eg if not 95% with Rapparee with STR x2 etc) > DEX Kila/Auric > DEX Kila/Rapidus

DEX Kila x2 if your acc is horrible but yeah.

I made a big spreadsheet comparing the values under different scenarios and found the list to be above. Note if fSTR does not change (presence of atma perhaps) when using STR Kilas vs non-STR Kilas, then they lose some power.

I figured Rapidus to be inferior to finished magian weapons and Auric, but damn nice otherwise. This was also assuming the 1% Haste almost caps you, giving it a very strong increase in damage (if you have Bullwhip Belt, there's a good chance your THF won't even need that 1%).
