Thanks for the tips and yea lol Kusha/Lava's thought so. I did the same mobs again in Miseraux re-parsed and changed my TP setup when I found out I could get 5tp/swing. Acc improved by 2% lol I guess I'm happy with 90%+.

It depends. Some 5-hit builds require Aurum to enable the 5-hit return. If you don't need the sTP from Aurum, use Zahak's mail.

Curious as to what the reasoning behind this is? I would think that in a post-Abyssea FFXI where acc is hardly an issue that 6 attack MUST count for something...

If you don't need the Acc and you do need the Atk, Assailant's Ring and Rajas gives you more Attack and 5 STP.

Hmm, I see. Well while we're on the subject of rings, which always boggles me when it comes to DDing, what would be the optimal ring combo for TPing on DNC:

A) For someone without Rajas
B) For someone with Rajas

Presently I have a Tamas ring, but I intend to switch after a couple of my lower level mage-jobs make it to the 75+ range.

A) Some combination of two of whatever second ring you'd use if you had Rajas.
B) Ecphoria/Rajas if Ecphoria gains you an extra 0.1TP/hit. Toreador/Rajas if you need Acc. Triumph/Rajas if you need fSTR. Heed/Rajas or Divisor/Rajas or Assailant/Rajas if you don't need any of those things. (Ideally you'd use Strigoi instead of Assailant ever, but I figured an AH option was more reasonable.)

Thank you for the response. Since I was planning to get a Heed Ring for evasion build anyway, I think I'm going to side with that and a STR ring for the time being (I assume Spiral Ring is an acceptable substitute for Triumph, since I spam Abyssea NMs a lot and could easily obtain one).

Ultimately, I'll probably shoot for Strigoi/Rajas, but I'm not too sure about how to determine if Ecphoria would give me 0.1TP/hit, as I haven't done much research into Store TP.

If X crosses the line into the next .1.

Pure theory for example:

Say you get 1 tp per hit. Yeah, bs, I know, doesn't matter. Say you have 19 stp.

you're getting 1*1.19 tp per hit, so 1.19

Adding ecphoria (1 more stp) would bump it to 1.2.

TP is *DROPPED* not rounded after the tenths place, so going from 19 there to 20 takes you from 1.1 tp per swing to 1.2.


edit: Also, forgot you're doing this for dps, in a dps build you don't need to worry about it unless it actually drops the number of hits to 100 tp, worrying about tenths otherwise is only worthwhile if you're actually using your tp for stuff other than dps, or tanking and therefore landing at random tp numbers a lot.

Eh, even then Minikin is pretty damned hard to turn down @ 10/tic refresh... It's what to back it up with that's kind of at odds.

RR, VV or SA? Hell even Ambition can work nicely depending on what you're doing. Your melee would suffer but 15/tic refresh, fast cast , & Move Speed you could just let the blue magic fly (and probably do some kiting if need be)

Does RR boost Vorpal to tolerable levels or are there still better WS for a BLU to use? Sanguine Scythe is another one that could work with the crit dmg & HP boost for some spells though that's really not as attractive for BLU as it is for other jobs. Too bad BLU doesn't have any crit spells higher than Sickle Slash

It depends on the circumstance. While soloing PDT rings, I found myself short on MP many times because I literally spell spammed most mobs. The problem is trying to access 5MP/tick (In terms of damage from additional casting) versus capped fSTR (Assumption), WSC, "BLU ATT" (Assumption), ATT, and Regain.

Edit: Definitely Loki's (If you have RR Atma) to the above question.
