Strigoi Ring

I love how people throw things like around like Strigoi Ring as though it is easy to get. I've killed at least 10 Ruthvens, fought or watched others fight several more, and have yet to see him have a shadow once.

if we are talking about the best then i guess we should also consider Setanta's Ledelsens which exists about as much as strigoi ring ......

Regardless, Rager Ledelsens still win. Not easy to acquire, especially if your server doesn't do WoE much, but something to aim for.

I've seen 4 Strigoi Rings drop between all the pops I did for my 10 nails (7-8 pops?). And that was in the span of 1 week. I really don't see how Strigoi is any harder to get than anything else out there.

What would be the best Magian katanas to go after for a mostly solo oriented nin (random NMs and the like nothing too major)? Thinking to start with the eva route but not sure if it would be better to start off with some combo of att/acc/OaT/Oa2-3 katana in case I end up doing anything other than soloing something that would need that much eva.

I hate Ruthven as much as the next guy, and I fucking despise the whole "no shadow, no ring, back to square 1" bullshit that comes with VNMs, so I thank my server's goldsmiths every day for making these things.

For solo, 2x AGI/Eva Katanas. For DD, probably Acc, Atk, and OAT Katana to be complete. I wouldn't make any path-committing decisions with the OAT Katana until after the September update though.

2 Rings in like 15-20 pops.

Edit: One of those rings was a friend's pop (Though I duoed her T1 and soloed her T2). She went 1/1 total (Shadow + Shadowless Ruths).

Hume, capped Axe merits. Melee set also has Axe Skill+7.

I know. I have Dusk, but as BST I do a lot of running around so need an alternative for some situations.

What's the general consensus on the magian katana combos? Due to Ninja's inherent shortcomings on the attack or accuracy front. Are pure damage + oat/3 combo still supreme? Or are choices like 46DMG Enchu + DexSekka viable?

I've compared many with delay and bonuses and to 100%. But due to me not liking math I avoided the OAT/3 offhands in the mashups. I ended with the Store TP Uzura and Perdu Blade just slightly faster than a 46DMG Enchu with DA+7 and Uzura Store TP 8 offhand and quicker than any combo using a Sekka.

I will freely admit I don't plan on upgrading a Tobi or Kannagi, as nice as they are, I won't go through with it. Am I looking in the right direction? Or is there something else out there I should be considering.

THF Utsusemi casting. 24% Haste with Homam's fast cast? Or 25% Haste?

Essentially, Homam Cosciales vs. Ocelot Trousers?
