Requesting Signature on Delivery?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to request signature on delivery for amazon and newegg. In a bigger apartment now with more tenants and scared one of them might swipe something D:

I think I've only had to sign once from newegg, but I wasn't able to choose the option. They made me sign for my 200$ monitor, but not for my 1800$ in computer parts.

I think that would actually depend on the delivery service (FedEx, UPS, etc) though I'm not entirely sure.

Is the community/facility gated? If so your packages will probably be left with the rental office and must be signed for from there.

If not, you can probably make arrangements with them or a neighbor, and leave notice on your door to ensure that it is left in hands you trust.

I know one way to get yourself on UPS's must sign list for life. Report one package as stolen (tons of people do this for items that aren't actually stolen and UPS -has- to comp it up to a certain value if they didn't get a signature).

After they go through the whole long and annoying reclaims process, and replace your lost item, your address will be placed permanently on a list of addresses that require a signature. You'll get a little note in the DIAD (the electronic board UPS drivers carry) saying that your address/area is suspect and then the drivers will shoot for a signature. They may leave it without a signature, but then if the package is stolen again (or you falsely claim it is) then the driver can get some heat from the claims department. It is unlikely that they'll lose their job with the union, but they probably wont leave the package most of the time.

And, that is how to require a signature on everything (for UPS anyway).

Uh, instead of going through all that...why not just call and see if you can be added to the must sign list? I would think it's a pretty common practice.

I know where I used to work we were a UPS shipper, and when sending a package, there is an option to require a signature. Maybe ask whoever is shipping the item to get this option when they send said item.

Contact shipper and request signature on delivery or special instructions to pick it up at the post office or only deliver when your home ect.

I was supposed to receive a package today and the online tracking now says it's delivered and signed by some Mexican guy but I never got the package. Checked the shipping address with them and it's correct. Waiting on them to call me back, gg.
