considering the reason why Notch stopped the updates was most likely because he was trying to start a business and hire people in order to satisfy customer demands, people see the momentary slowdown and think he's going to run away with all of their money.

It's like being in a car and then the driver stops to get gas and the passengers all start flipping out and screaming "why are we stopped" and they take the keys out of the ignition, saying they're not going to give them back unless the car starts moving again. I would like to see updates as much as the next person but holding developers hostage in locked cages only leads to shitty games, just ask activision.

It's pretty obvious that he's not actually "sitting on his ass." Perhaps it would make some sense if Notch weren't keeping a frequently-updated blog just to keep players/customers informed of what's going on. However, he is, and a DDoS attack is just entitled retards making everything worse for everyone.

qft, I too would enjoy more updates and patches and what not but hell just a few weeks ago he was just doing this all by himself, he had just recently started trying to hire the proper people for the job, I'm sure once he gets the office building he wants and gets everything setup that real progress will be made.

I assumed since they were attacking him that he has been delaying content and just screwing around while people have been watching weeks/months go by without any updates, guess I was wrong.

Usually when you see someone act out its not because someone is slowing down to get gas as someone put it but because they stopped completely, I mean this isn't the first game to charge for some cool features but most of those games the creator loses interest or takes the money and runs when they promised all this cool stuff but its been a year with no word, so you can see why I thought that.

If it is that he is working on it and its just some impatient fuck(s) who can't wait a week without expecting an update and new content then screw them, it's not cool that we have to suffer because someone is butthurt but not much we can do.

I hope that clarifies how I saw it as I agree with you guys now I got more of the picture.

Still this game is addicting as shit and great to play between readychecks in WoW :D
