That's how I feel about most changes/additions to the game... the nature of the game itself appears to make any additions extremely easy to implement. Aside from the typical laundry list of basic items/materials I would love to have added (scuba gear, quivers, and backpacks!) I would really prefer him to hurry and fix liquid dynamics, boats, and minecarts to not suck so much.

@ Ragans/Sonokitty If yall are using mcadmin remove it. Developer left in back doors allowing him to remotely shut down servers using it as well as banning administrators.

In the last few days I messed up badly. I played with the trust of my users, I abused it to be precise.

So what did I do?
I integrated a feature into MCAdmin which made me unkickable and unbannable.
Also I made a feature which could set my level to admin level.
And the last thing was I could remotely disable any server from running MCAdmin

Now why would I do that?
Well, the first feature was made because some admins kicked me thinking I was a hacker (because of my [Dev] tag).
The second feature I integrated to help admins of servers, so I can show them around the commands, and how they work with MCAdmin and resolve issues right on-the-server.
And for the last thing, I don't know why I did it, I had the idea of some servers harming the community or something.

So, what now?
Well, the features are all removed already. I cannot remotely shutdown your server nor am I any kind of special.
Now all I can do is saying sorry. I never thought people would call this abusive, I would have never abused it.
But I understand people might think like that.

So what's with that guy (Bradster) whos server you disabled because of disliking him?
I disabled his server after he insulted me, not because I dislike him. You have to see, at that time, one guy ont he server insulted me (a guest) so I said "shut up". This got me banned, Then I reconnected because I got unbanned just to be yelled at how I should not decide how I am running my admin mod or not. Thus I disabled his server.
This was not right and all I can do is saying I am sorry for that, too. I overreacted.

But what's the "Developer mode" about now?
Well, now it prompts you to accept my request for "developer mode", this will grant me all rights. If you do not wish that, you can just click "no" on the box and nothing will happen.

What are the challenges in keeping people interested in the coming months? How do you keep up the momentum and avoid becoming a fad?
Once we get the company up and running, we can hopefully ramp up development speed a bit, and get the multiplayer mode fully functioning.
Once that’s in place, I think there’s a huge potential in competitive multiplayer modes like capture the flag and so on, which should keep people – including myself – interested for a long time.
For the single player game and co-op game, I plan on adding some kind of overarching narrative to the game to drive the player forward and provide a sense of direction, and add many more new features, like monster towns and alchemy

Sounds like Notch had a temper tantrum. I had read this earlier today but I thought it was an actual hacker who had figured out how to use the admin banning tools. Kind of weird finding out that it was actually Notch.

The MM SMP mod now requires Hey0' Server Mod b121 or another compatible build.

Changes:

* Name size no longer changes with zoom.
* Position marker enlarged and now shows the direction the player is facing, all without reducing accuracy.
* Player positions update faster.
* Hey0's Server Mod is now required. The standalone SMP mod version has been discontinued.
* The next patch to AutoMap will allow it to receive player locations from servers with the MM SMP mod version 0.3.0 or higher.

Probably dumb questions, but is anyone aware of a Map Mod that works for single player? If not, if i want to use it, can I just use hey0's mod but create what is essentially a 'private' server? Just looking for a way to get the map mod (and hey0's mod sounds very nice as well) without having to deal with griefing, randoms, etc...

@Qal, oh yeah I have no issues with F3 at all. I like it just fine. I was just scouring the boards here off and on and reading this topic and thinking of all those undiscovered underground caves got me excited I guess.

Losing a half dozen diamonds + 3 diamond tools + assloads of gold/iron ores + 4 stacks of coal + a stack of mossy cobblestone + full iron armor because I fell into a dark corner and got buttfucked by a spider while fumbling for my sword... makes me want to quit and start over. So frustrating.

I remember him confirming at least 6 block types. I'm really interested to find out if you can craft/smelt them into anything.

Also, seems Hell WILL be available in old saves. I thought I'd have to make new ones. Since torches currently in-hame will become lanterns I've got some work yo do.
