how does it work loading an existing save in the new patch? Do you have to travel further to some place that hasn't been rendered yet to get new stuff to spawn? Am I better off just building a new house from scratch?
manbearpigs with chainsaw swords >_<
you can smack ghasts' fireballs back at them with your sword. also, the fishing rod works now, it's sort of like Scorpion's spear throw
So is the server being reset sometime? Cause I kinda blew up my house today thinking it was xD
Started a new game, set up a nice wee base inside a mountain that's impenetrable, Greenhouse/Exit on the roof, Tree, Reed, and Grain Farms, and a Waterfall+Moat combo to stall shit at night.
Decide I want the moat made of fire to burn the mobs that keep getting caught in it so I load up Xray to see where the nearest Lava vein is and it's miles under me with no Diamond near it...
Goddamn.
holy shit ghasts are a million times more obnoxious than creepers ever were

I just generated a world, walked 3 feet and the whole sandy beach caved in on a dungeon full of zombies. Was kinda' awesome.
Man, this inventory-loss bug is making the game about 9000 times more stressful. Hardcore mode.
Ive lost 2 diamond pickaxes and 2 diamond shovels to creepers in broad daylight T_T
edit: What's with monsters spawning in well lit area underground now ._. getting very annoying
Yeah, monster spawns have been amped up. I noticed that areas in my underground 'camp' that I have never seen monsters in... now have roaming bands of mind raping creepers. Assholes. So I decided to generate a few new maps and see how they compared and I have to say I am loving the first two. One put me on a little peninsula with trees as far as i could see. The second but me in a kind of bowl in the middle of these massive sand mountains.
I think I am going to start over in a sense. I may pull my inventory over using INVedit and explore for a bit then set my spawn with NBTedit, then it is all business. Kind of hope that Notch fixes the mob spawn issue (even docile mobs are out of hand) as well as the total loss of items upon death issue soon.
The new biomes really are pretty damn amazing!
