I wish Jack-O-Lanterns weren't as bright and waterproof as Lightstone... it kinda' steals the thunder away from the massive pain in the ass it is to harvest it in the Nether and craft it 9 dust > 1 block... Now that I have a dozen of them or so, I am really tempted to make an underwater home with lightstone blocks lighting the way. It just sucks that if you misplace one, breaking it yields only 1 Lightstone Dust (1/9 of a block)...

Say, does that higher-rez texture pack apply to characters/NPCs as well? I'm tempted to get the game sometime soonish since beta doesn't seem that far off now, but I'd prefer not to have the pixellated textures at all.

This is why I always use dirt or cobblestone etc when I am making something with obsidian and unsure of block placement. Once I am satisfied with the placement of my fake obsidian I replace it with real obsidian. Yeah, breaking down the placeholder takes time but breaking down obsidian is such a pita I think it is worth it. I hate misplacing even 1 obsidian. >_>;
